ok so ended the season, well it is the slowest and weakest of all the marvel netflix shows yes, just when the fun and mystery is about to be explored they just end it :(

i guess they just wanted to show danny rand's backstory before defenders etc...

Also completed this today, it was good.

Give it a 8/10

I didn't like the Danny/Colleen Romance. I felt it was just there for the sake of having 'romance' in every show. They should have keep them as friends. I don't enjoy my Colleen making out with other guys :p

Yeah, the mystery and suspense was starting right in the end. Davos is a bastard, and Joy is going down the evil route. While Danny/Ward are on good terms now.

I hope for the next season, there's a new showrunner, while Scott Buck is still part of the show, but is the secondary producer. In the right hands, Season 2 could be something epic.

I haven't watched Jessica Jones or Luke Cage, but i really doubt Iron fist is the weakest of all netflix marvel shows. The setting and premises were good. It's better than Daredevil Season 1 imo, because that was boring as fuck, and Kingpin was boring imo. While Daredevil Season 2 is on Arrow Season 2 level.
manigamer Excited for Defenders, but will i have to watch Luke Cage and Jessica Jones before? Are they necessary?

How is it better than DD S01? There was barely any good action sequence in Iron Fist. And we barely saw him using his Fist at max potential (Only two times that I can remember). That Hallway fight scene in DD S01 is so much better than the combine fight scenes of Iron Fist S01. Here is the reminder of that:

I think i will watch Luke Cage before Defenders releases then...

But is Jessica Jones necessary? It's basically a porno, with all the rape themes and such. Not interested in those stuff :/

Yes you should watch both shows. And Jessica Jones is not a porno man! DAMN!. Yes the theme is dark but isnt that a good thing? Are people these days not interested in darker side stories of super heroes? And there are no rape scenes if you are worried about that.
You should go ahead and watch both shows before Defenders premiere (sm1)

Well everyone has their own favorites. But Netflix shows of Marvel gained popularity because of DD. And its still on top followed by JJ and LC. (sm1)

[h=1]Iron Fist Season 2 Confirmed; Misty Knight to Join the Series[/h]

Marvel has confirmed that Iron Fist season 2 is happening and will include the character Misty Knight. Season 1 of Iron Fist premiered on Netflix earlier this year, introducing both Danny Rand aka. the immortal Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and the character Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the process. However, prior to the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con, Iron Fist was the only one of the four solo Marvel/Netflix character series that had not yet confirmed to be getting a second season (or third, in the case of Daredevil).
However, the reveal that Iron Fist will continue on for another season – which happened at The Defenders SDCC 2017 panel – was accompanied by the announcement that the show will be adding Miss Knight to the mix in season 2. Misty Knight is played by Simone Missick in the MCU and was introduced to the small screen in Luke Cage season 1, as one of the good cops of Harlem. She will also be playing a role in the upcoming first season of The Defenders mini-series, before she joins forces with both Danny and Coleen in their respective corner of the Marvel/Netflix-verse.

Those who are Marvel Comics readers might also be familiar with the comic book history between Misty and Colleen – namely, that they wind up banding together and forming a crime-fighting team of their own, aka. the Daughters of the Dragon. It’s not yet clear if the two characters will be forming said superhero-for-hire organization during Iron Fist season 2, but the inclusion of Misty will certainly pave the way for such a development to happen down the line in the MCU, if nothing else.

Similar to how Daredevil season 2 introduced Frank Castle (played by Jon Bernthal) to the MCU and set the character on a path to starring in his own series (namely Marvel’s The Punisher, season 1 of which premieres later this year), it’s quite plausible that Iron Fist season 2 will serve as a “test run” for a Daughters of the Dragon spinoff series to happen in the future. In combination with The Defenders, Iron Fist‘s second season might also further lay the foundation for a Heroes for Hire spinoff series, based around Danny Rand and Luke Cage’s own New York-based superhero business.
At this stage, not much else is known about Iron Fist season 2 beyond all that. Indeed, it’s not yet clear whether or not season 1 showrunner Scott Buck will return for the show’s sophomore outing, especially in the wake of the poor critical reception to Iron Fist season 1 and with Buck now running Marvel’s Inhumans TV series (which premieres on ABC this September). Nevertheless, the news that Iron Fist season 2 will bring us one step closer to a Daughters of the Dragon TV spinoff is reason enough (for now, anyway) for fans to be excited about the prospect of the continuing adventures of Danny Rand and friends.

[h=1]Iron Fist Season 2 Filming Start Date Confirmed[/h]

Iron Fist season 2 is set to begin filming before the end of the year, with a start date confirmed for early next month. News of follow-up seasons for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage were swiftly announced after each series premiered on Netflix. When it came to the not-so-beloved Iron Fist, however, it took a bit longer for a second season to be confirmed. Unsurprisingly, Iron Fist will be undergoing some retooling in season 2, with a new showrunner now in charge and Misty Knight (Simone Missick) being added as a recurring player to the series.
Once The Defenders arrived, it was clear that some tweaks had been made to Danny Rand. While Iron Fist made him out to be a bit pompous and insufferable at times given both of his upbringings, The Defenders used this to great comic effect. Danny’s status as both a billionaire business owner and mystically-powered protector of an ancient city sets him apart from the more grounded Marvel/Netflix superheroes. As such, humbling the character with plenty of ribbing from his teammates went a long way to making him more enjoyable. Hopefully, Iron Fist season 2 will keep up this tactic, when production gets underway.

Spoiler TV has a number of updated production schedules, and it looks like Iron Fist season 2 will begin shooting on December 6. Iron Fist costar Sacha Dhawan previously confirmed that the plan was for season 2 to begin filming in December, but the new update makes it more official.

Finn Jones and Mike Colter in Luke Cage season 2

Finn Jones began training for Iron Fist season 2 back in September, suggesting that production will be less rushed this time around, compared to season 1. The lack of preparation led to some lackluster fight scenes in season 1, though that was remedied for Iron Fist’s battles during The Defenders. Season 2 stands to continue that upward trend, while Misty Knight’s inclusion indicates that Danny will continue to be roasted by his allies.

The other intriguing thing about the December start date is what it means for Iron Fist season 2’s premiere date. The new seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage are all expected to premiere in 2018, but it’s not clear yet if the plan is for Iron Fist season 2 to join them. Marvel and Netflix premiered three different TV shows in 2017 (Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher), but releasing four seasons in a single year does seem a bit much… though not impossible, of course.
Either way, Danny Rand fans shouldn’t have to wait too long to see the character again. Iron Fist is set to appear in Luke Cage season 2 next and, based on that, it seems likely that Luke will also show up during Iron Fist season 2 at some point. Whether or not that means a Heroes for Hire spinoff series may yet be in the cards (as fans have long speculated), is another matter.

[h=1]Iron Fist Season 2 May Introduce New Female Villain[/h]

An Iron Fist season 2 character description suggests that the Marvel/Netflix series will be introducing a new female villain in the mix, with the list of possibilities including Tanya Adrian aka. Lady Gorgon. Iron Fist season 1, of course, featured a female antagonist of its own in the form of Madme Gao (Wai Chin Ho), a member of the clandestine ninja organization known as The Hand, who first made her debut in the Marvel/Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Daredevil season 1. After menacing Danny Rand (Finn Jones) for a good chunk of Iron Fist‘s freshman season, Gao went off the radar and subsequently resurfaced as one of the main baddies in this summer’s The Defenders crossover event.

Although Gao (seemingly) perished with the other four “fingers” of The Hand during The Defenders, Iron Fist season 1 also setup another female antagonist for season 2; namely Joy Meachum (Jessica Stroup), who was shown plotting her revenge against Danny with the latter’s old comrade from K’un-Lun, Davos (Sacha Dhawan) near the conclusion of the season. While Iron Fist season 2 showrunner Raven Metzner – who is taking over from season 1 showrunner and series creator Scott Buck – will no doubt pick up that narrative thread, it’s not unreasonable to assume that Danny will be facing some new enemies this time around, too.

THS has gotten ahold of an Iron Fist season 2 character description for an individual that is being referred to as “Tanya Parker”, leading the site to speculate the the role in question here is really that of Tanya Adrian aka. Lady Gorgon. The site acknowledges there are certainly other possibilities for the role in question (like, for example, the character Black Mamba), but Lady Gorgon is their best bet at the moment. You can read the actual casting call below and decide for yourselves:

[TANYA PARKER] (late-20’s, open ethnicity) As a freelance covert operative, Tanya has carried out many high-level missions. A chameleon adept at playing roles, Tanya inhabits the “part” that best fits the mission. SERIES REGULAR

First introduced in comic book form in Punisher War Journal Vol. 2, #20 back in 2008, the Lady Gorgon character is a member of The Hand and was famously hired by the villainous Jigsaw/Billy Russo to kill Frank Castle/The Punisher. Ben Barnes made his Marvel/Netflix small screen debut as the Billy Russo character in The Punisher season 1 this year and has since completed his transformation into the disfigured Jigsaw. However, if “Tanya Parker” is indeed Lady Gorgon, then it’s unlikely that she will have any ties to Barnes as Billy Russo, seeing as The Punisher TV show tends to avoid connections to other Defenders TV series whenever possible.
The Lady Gorgon character would provide an organic way for Iron Fist season 2 to incorporate The Hand back into the mix, even though The Defenders seemingly left the organization in shambles with its top leaders all dead. Some MCU fans have no doubt gotten their fill of The Hand at this point, considering the central role they played in not only Iron Fist season 1 and The Defenders, but also the back-half of Daredevil season 2. Still, it would arguably be strange if the street level superheroes of New York (like Danny Rand) were to never encounter anyone from that group again, given how widespread their influence and underground empire was established as being in Phase 1 of the Marvel/Netflix television slate.
With production on Iron Fist season 2 set to get underway next week, additional details – including, a casting announcement for the “Tanya Parker” role and more details on who, exactly, they are – should be arriving sooner than later now. The possibility of a cool new villain, plus a fresh showrunner at the helm and confirmation that Misty Knight (Simone Missick) is joining the fun this season, is reason enough for now to be hopeful that Iron Fist season 2 marks an improvement on its not so beloved predecessor.

[h=1]Iron Fist Season 2 Casts Alice Eve in Mystery Role[/h]

Iron Fist season 2 is set to begin filming this month, and just as production gets underway, the series adds Alice Eve to its cast in an unspecified but presumably key role. Likely familiar to viewers from her many film and TV roles, including a terrific turn opposite Bryce Dallas Howard in the Black Mirror season 3 episode ‘Nosedive’, as well as her role as Carol Marcus in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness, Eve’s casting may be a sign things are moving in a more positive direction for the series.
Eve joins returning cast members Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, Tom Pelphrey, and Jessica Stroup, as the continuing adventures of Danny Rand get underway in the wake of this summer’s eight-episode event series, The Defenders. But season 2 isn’t just picking up in the wake of the street-level heroes teaming up to confront the Hand; it’s also picking up the pieces from what was a disappointing first outing for the series under former showrunner Scott Buck that was heavily criticized for everything from its casting of Jones to its languorous plot, all of which seemingly revealed a critical weakness in the seemingly indomitable MCU.

First reported by Variety, Eve’s casting came with an announcement from the head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb, who said, “We are very excited to have an actress of Alice’s stature join the cast of ‘Marvel’s Iron Fist. Her exceptional talent brings an intrigue and danger to her character unlike anyone else.” Loeb’s comments are deliberately vague and will likely pique the interest of those eager to guess who Eve will play. As has become commonplace with the notoriously secretive productions flying under the Marvel banner, the exact details of her role are being kept under wraps, but an earlier casting announcement for the series may hold the answer to the question of which character she is playing.

A description for the character of Tanya Parker was revealed last week, describing her as “a freelance covert operative” who has “carried out many high-level missions.” Parker is also “a chameleon adept at playing roles,” and someone who “inhabits the ‘part’ that best fits the mission.” There’s been plenty of speculation that Tanya Parker is actually Tanya Adrian – or some version of her – which, if true, would pave the way for the show to introduce Lady Gorgon. If that’s the case, it’s safe to assume this is the part Eve will be playing, putting her in the role as a primary antagonist for the Iron Fist.
With her ties to the Hand, Lady Gordon makes for a potentially compelling adversary in season 2, one that offers the Netflix series the chance to turn the villainous group into something more interesting than a vague threat made up of ninjas on the prowl for dragon bones. Whatever their shortcomings may be, Netflix’s Marvel series have generally done a good job making their villains into more-interesting-than-usual characters, so hopefully incoming showrunner Raven Metzner will deliver something along those lines with Tanya Parker. While that remains to be seen, the odds of Metzner’s success will be improved considerably if that is indeed who Alice Eve has been tapped to play.

[h=1]Netflix Cancels Marvel's Iron Fist After 2 Seasons[/h]

In a surprise move, Netflix has canceled Marvel's Iron Fist after two seasons on their service. The news comes only a month after the second season was released.
Out of the four Netflix shows that comprise Marvel TV's Defenders project, Iron Fistwas critically the least well-received, and also the most divisive among fans. The low-to-mixed reception for the character of Danny Rand (Finn Jones) carried on to crossover The Defenders, which itself had a mixed reaction. With a change in showrunner from Scott Buck to M. Raven Metzner for the show's sophomore season,Iron Fist greatly improved in the eyes of both critics and viewers, ending with an impressive set-up for a third season.

Unfortunately, any fans that Iron Fist has gained over the past couple of years will not see the third season come to fruition - at least, not on Netflix. While no particular reasons were cited for the sudden cancellation of the comic book-based series, Netflix and Marvel TV provided the following joint statement to Deadline.
Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners. We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.

The final sentence of the joint statement is rather curious. On one hand, it could just be an affectionate, tongue-in-cheek reference to the character’s title. But on the speculative side, the careful wording of it might mean that the show could find life in another form, perhaps in a combo show with
Luke Cage, which itself has not yet been renewed for a third season. After all, many fans have expressed interest in a show focusing on Heroes for Hire or Daughters of the Dragon. Perhaps Marvel TV could also migrate Iron Fist to Disney’s own streaming service, which will be home to shows focusing on Marvel Studios characters such as Loki and Scarlet Witch.

Whatever the case may be, this news is surely a disappointment for those who enjoyed the second season, and wanted to see where the story would progress from there. Metzner had a better handle on the comic book source material, and ended the season on an ambitious note,
setting up potential plotlines involving Colleen Wing as the new Iron Fist defending New York City, and Danny Rand and Ward Meechum going on their own journey in Asia to find Orson Randall, with Danny sporting some interesting new powers. It's also a sad note for those still holding out hope for a second run of The Defenders, with one of the four confirmed to no longer have a show on Netflix. At the very least, Marvel/Netflix fans have Daredevil season 3 coming next week, with The Punisher season 2 and Jessica Jones season 3 set for sometime in the future, giving hope that this portion of the MCU will be here to stay.

[h=1]Netflix Made A Big Mistake Cancelling Iron FistNetflix has made the decision to cancel Iron Fist after two seasons - and it's a big mistake. Barely a month after the release of Iron Fist season 2, the streaming giant chose to announce that the series had been canceled. This is the first Marvel series to be cut by the streaming service, and despite the official statement stating "While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on", there's a sense of this being far too untimely.[/h]Season 2 showrunner Raven Metzner and stars Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick have both publicly thanked fans for sticking with Iron Fist through its two seasons. Their comments have led to speculation that Iron Fist season 3 may yet go to another platform, perhaps even to the Disney streaming service that's due to launch next year. At this time, though, there's no evidence of that and it frankly seems unlikely; the House of Mouse will hardly want their streaming service to get a reputation for simply picking up the content that's been canceled on other platforms. The sad truth is that the Iron Fist series seems to be dead.

And while the road for Danny Rand has been rocky, canceling Iron Fist is ultimately a massive mistake on Netflix's part. The series still has the potential to be one of their best - and here's why.

[h=2]NETFLIX & MARVEL HAVE FIXED IRON FIST[/h]

Iron Fist was always going to be the most problematic Marvel Netflix show. Marvel initially struggled to work out a solid pitch, largely because they didn't feel the mystical elements gelled all to well with the rest of the Netflix world. They were given an unexpected breathing-space by the popularity of Mike Colter's Luke Cage, whose cameo in Jessica Jones season 1 was so well-received that they decided to fast-track his solo series. But even with the benefit of extra time, season 1 showrunner Scott Buck simply failed to deliver. The show was savaged both by critics and casual viewers; the pacing, the plot, the characterization, the acting, and - most shocking of all - even the fight choreography were generally viewed as disappointing. Danny Rand is supposed to be Marvel's premiere martial artist, but Finn Jones' skills just weren't up to the challenge.

In spite of its flaws,
Iron Fist was still a hit according to viewing figures. Netflix renewed the show for a second season, and Marvel began to work at fixing the series. They did this by focusing in on the central characters, Danny Rand and Colleen Wing, and carefully integrating them into the wider world they were building on Netflix.Danny became a central character in The Defenders team-up series and Finn Jones looked noticeably stronger when performing against all of the other stars. Specifically, the comic-book-accurate dynamic between Iron Fist and Luke Cage worked perfectly, with Danny later playing a cameo in an episode of Luke Cage season 2. Jones spent months training, becoming far more proficient at martial arts.

Iron Fist Season 2 was an even bigger step. Raven Metzner took over as showrunner and turned the series around, avoiding the traditional Marvel Netflix pacing problems with tight writing, strong character arcs that built towards the franchise-transforming denouement, and a lean ten episodes. The new showrunner wove some fascinating themes into his script, with a notable subtext implying that the Iron Fist can be compared to an addiction. Meanwhile, Marvel recruited
Black Panther fight choreographer Clayton Barber to work on the series, who improved the action scenes dramatically. Both Jones and Henwick shone through as far more competent martial artists, and careful editing emphasized their growing skills. Marvel had achieved their goal; they had successfully redeemed Iron Fist. Compare the critic scores on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes: where season 1 has a horrific 19 percent, season 2 stands at 53 percent. It's still a mid-range hit rate, but the transformation is remarkable.

[h=2]IRON FIST SEASON 2 SET UP A FANTASTIC NEW STATUS QUO[/h]

It wasn't just that Iron Fist season 2 was better, it was that it promised a brighter future; by the end, Colleen Wing had become the Immortal Iron Fist and Danny was on a personal mission.

A very different character to Danny, Colleen could sense the spirit of the dragon within her but was far more well-trained and competent when it comes to controlling such rage. The little evidence we had at the end of season 2 suggested that Colleen would be a more diplomatic Iron Fist, while still suiting up and take action as a vigilante. This is an arc that's never been done in the comics, so we have absolutely no idea where it could lead.

Danny, meanwhile, headed off to Asia on a quest to uncover the secret history of the Iron Fist. A flash-forward scene revealed that he had regained the power of the Iron Fist, but learned some new tricks too, even channeling that power through bullets. His mission had led him to look for Orson Randall, a name that's familiar to any comic book readers; he was the previous Iron Fist, a man who abandoned his duty after the violence became too much for him. Orson Randall's introduction in the comics led Danny to question everything he'd been previously taught, and ultimately revealed the Seven Capital Cities of Heaven.

The lack of Iron Fist season 3 leaves all this up in the air. How will Danny's quest play out? What will Colleen be like as the new Iron Fist of New York? Those questions risk being left unanswered - although there is some hope.

[h=2]WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE CHARACTERS OF IRON FIST?[/h]As we've noted, statements from Metzner, Jones and Henwick have all seemed to imply that the story of the Immortal Iron Fist is far from over. While it frankly seems unlikely that the series will transition to another platform, it's possible instead that the individual character arcs will play out in other Marvel Netflix shows.
Take Colleen Wing. At the end of Iron Fist season 2, Colleen's friend Misty (played by Simone Missick) suggested she may need her to pay a visit to Luke Cage sooner or later. Luke has taken over the Paradise Club, and he's attempting to negotiate peace between Harlem's gangs by acting as a crime boss himself; it's a safe bet that this isn't going to go well. In Misty's words, Colleen now has "one of the few weapons that might make a dent in that man." So it seems safe to assume Luke Cage season 3 will feature a scrap between Power Man and Iron Fist - an exciting prospect. Looking beyond that, there's a lot of speculation that Marvel and Netflix could continue Colleen's story in a spinoff show, one inspired by the Daughters of the Dragon comics.

Danny Rand, however, is far more questionable. Season 2 ended with him on another continent, and none of the other Marvel Netflix shows can reasonably be expected to head to Asia anytime soon. The best bet is probably to keep him away for a while, and then bring Jones in as part of the secondary cast in another series. He could return, armed with Iron Fist powers once again, and Marvel could continue to build on the last few years' worth of character-work. Perhaps Marvel could eventually team up Iron Fist with Luke Cage in
a Heroes for Hire spinoff; barring that, he could become a supporting character in plots that feature Colleen (a rather ironic twist).

There's one other character whose story really needs to be completed, though. Iron Fist season 3 introduced viewers to
Alice Eve's phenomenal Typhoid Mary, a brutal assassin who suffered from dissociative identity disorder. By the end of the season, a third identity was being hinted at - the violent and brutal "Bloody Mary," a murderer who revels in bloodshed and pain. Eve demonstrated tremendous skill in portraying the different identities, and it would be such a shame if such an excellent comic book character was wasted. Fortunately, there may be a neat solution for Typhoid Mary; perhaps she could transition to a future season of Daredevil. The character is traditionally associated with the Man Without Fear, after all, and is one of Matt Murdock's most dangerous foes. It would make perfect sense for Marvel to move her to that series.

Of course, the reality is that we don't know what Marvel and Netflix have planned right now. They still haven't officially announced third seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, let alone a fourth season of Daredevil (season 3 streams this Friday). Meanwhile, both the Daughters of the Dragon and the Heroes for Hire spinoffs are ideas that Netflix may not even be interested in. Only time will tell whether the potential of the Iron Fist
characters is ever realized.
