Need Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Battery. Please guide.

My Xiaomi Mi Max 2 phone's battery has swollen and its pressure is pushing the screen out. I have tried but couldn't find another battery. I also contacted Mi Customer Care (Smartlink) Karachi and they say I would have to give them the phone and it will take 8 to 10 days for them to replace the battery. Please guide if I can get the battery from somewhere easily and get it replaced. Also is it safe to use the mobile in this condition? Please inform.

It's not particularly safe, but I suppose if the phone doesn't heat up, and you avoid using it while charging, it should be fine.

Parts for Xiaomi phones aren't exactly easy to come by, the only thing I can think of is AliExpress, but the delivery times are so long that you might as well ask SmartLink to replace it for you.

Your best bet is to hand over the phone to the company for factory repairs.

As for the downsides of using a swollen battery, well ... it could explode under heat or stress while charging. So better safer than sorry.
