HDR peak brightness is the most important factor for resolving highlights. Rated below X900H there 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

Notice iampasha's disappointment with a 400 nits display? Yeah, OLEDs aren't far off. Great contrast or not, a dull, dark, screen is the last thing one wants for HDR to make an impact 🤣

Despite giving OLEDs a high overall rating, Vincent of HDTVTest acknowledges this as well 🤷‍♂️

P.S. still waiting for that 20Hz-120Hz VRR update for C9 🤣

Rtings gives the most priority to Contrast ratio by a significant margin over peak brightness. Nothing you can do about it really 🤷‍♂️

Vincent has also been rating OLEDs as the best TVs for gaming or otherwise 🤷‍♂️

Same goes for DF. 🤷‍♂️

Samsung's Game Mode is, to put it mildly, trash.

Their latest Mini LEDs can't might the contrast of OLEDs as well. The brightness only makes scenes like these worse. Even worse, when you enable subtitles lol

Meanwhile CerebralTiger setting up his TV outside in bright environment....

Pitch dark scenes look better on OLEDs. News at 9.

Good thing most film/TV/game content isn't depicted in pitch darkness, and therefore LCDs are able to showcase HDR in a far more impactful manner 🤷‍♂️

Interestingly, these comparisons were performed in a dark viewing environment. Bright na bhi karein tou yeh haal hai, YIKES!! 🤣

CerebralTiger could have updated this info in this thread as well. Not sure why he chose ResetEra only. Then again, it is his fav forum after all 🤷‍♂️

CTRON said:
RTINGS updated their review since the latest FW update.

As others have already said, local dimming is disabled in Enhanced Format (VRR) mode and the blur at 4k/120 Hz is still present.

VRR minimum coverage is at 48 Hz.

Input lag with 4k @ 120 Hz seems to be 13.3 ms.

Wat...why would I do what that Rust fanboy does  🤷‍♂️

Anyway, Sony has already stated this is a preliminary update. The actual VRR update should arrive later this year along with VRR support for the PS5.
