I have been asked by a friend to find out how good they are.

Cherry tablet and what not..

Are they word the 8-12k he would spend on them?

They do have android right, so.. that should at least make the software.. worth it?

Ainol is pretty good, it doesn't have a sucky display like other Chinese tablets. It has a bunch of models and all of them are available on home shopping. The best part is that they have good processors with a good GPU and have ICS installed.

If you want to with chinese than go with Ainol Aurora 2 having dual core processor and IPS screen.

yes ainol aurora II is currently top Chinese tab in 7 inch screen size with LG IPS panel , price in Karachi is 14500 rs

Ainol and Onda are the two best brands for chinese tabs and Ainol is good for supporting their tabs my suggestion is to go for ELF II it has a Dual Core processor and MAli 400 GPU.....other option is Tornados costa 9k

Has anyone tried the Xtouch X704 and other models of tablets that Galaxy are selling?

I have also taken note of the Ainol Aurora 2 with the IPS screen, but not sure where I can try one out and get one in Lahore.

Primarily, anyone that has used and experienced an Xtouch X204 device, please let me know what your thoughts are.

Shouldn't go for Aurora 2 / Elf 2. These are now previous generation.

Now you should go for Ainol Crystal Jelly Bean 4.1.1 tablet .. available for rs. 12,500/-
Or Ainol Fire which has 1280x800 resolution screen.

Yes, but I was hoping to find someone on this site that was using the Xtouch tablet as it is very cheap in comparison.

Xtouch is half the price, and though it is not a dual core, does not have a 2.0mp front camera, these two things I don't need anyway. The IPS panel on the Aurora is tempting but it costs 18000+ on HSN which is too much compared to the Xtouch device at 8800 or so.

And I have seen that distributors are stopping their distribution of Ainol products due to issues. And there have got to be a high percentage of tablets with issues for someone to just drop distributing them.

Xtough is a lower spec tablet at a very good price, and the specs are more than enough for what I need it for. I am just looking for PG members having a first hand experience with this product.

Currently Using Aurora II Tab its good and i think note on their site could be that they will supply international version of Ainol products not the chinese versions and to confirm this u should call their distributors be4 leaving Ainol products in my opinion u should give Ainol product a chance Its worth it.
