[NBA] Low End Gaming PC [Budget: 25k]

Assalamualikum!

A friend of mine want to shift from laptop to desktop PC, as his lappy doesn't play games smoothly. Games mostly he play are : TF2, Dota 2 and few others.
So pls recommend best price/performance components.

Budget: 25 thousand.

Major Use : Gaming, Surfing.

I'm thinking about this specification:

1. Intel Core 2 Quad - 8k
2. 775 Socket Board - 4-5k
3. 80 GB Velociraptor - 2k
4. 4 GB Ram - 2k
5. PSU - 1.5k
6. Mouse + Keyboard - 1k
7. Graphics Card - 4-5k

I'm not sure if he can get an i3 with 1156 board in that budget.

Althought 5770 might hard to find in 8K , especially the one with warranty.

Is this processor better than Core 2 Quad ones?
And can he play few other high end games including Max Payne 3, Assassins Creed III easily using this processor?

Depends on what resolution he's playing at...

HD5770 is not a power hungry card
A used PSU in 1.5 to 2k Rs will handle it

Pentium G620 ~55W (Max)
HD5770 ~ ~110W (During Gaming)

Any PSU that can give ~250W on 12V will easily power this system

I bought absolute 460 wattspsuwith 42 amps for 1.5 and it easily handle 460 so u can find such type of psu easily.and why 5770 why not 6770 when its available in 8.5 k

Sure

In this benchmark most of the games are just supposed to use max 2 cores so they are not actually utilizing the max power of quad cores , hence higher clocks for g620 showing it equal to q8200, but if you do the same benchmark on latest games like maxpayne 3 , assassin's creed 3 , far cry 3 ( which are meant to use more cores ) the result will vary alot

from pg market place i saw one sold for 8.5 k and also few 550ti are also being sold here for around 9 k

C2q is better than g620

performance wise it has a bit advantage but its chipset is dead i.e no path for future upgrade while g620 on the lga 1155 platform can be easily upgraded to a better processor without any hassle
