Hey guys my friend needs some advice on buying a laptop. Suggest the best laptop you can find for 80k and also it must be new no used onces. Again its not for me but for a friend

Envy touchsmart , I own one, really great device with excellent performance , Lenovo has some pretty solid devices in that price range , what are his preferences??? Integrated vs dedicated GPU,1080p vs 1366*760 ,touch or no touch,backlight keyboard vs non backlight,how much storage? Ssd or not?

Also let me tell u a important point before getting a laptop , human eye can't even differentiate between a 3mp and 5mp image , so wasting around 150$ extra for a 1080p display for laptop is non-sense , instead get a good msata ssd in that price and increase ram

Almost all laptops from mainstream brands are more or less the same, so it comes down to what you prefer. I'd say go for the one made by HP (ProBook in particular). They've top notch build quality I've seen on a portable PC yet.

5) Should have optical drive

1080p with dedicated GPU in this range is difficult

Dedicated 2gigs nvidia
Touch
Backlight keyboard
Ssd +1tb hard disk
12gigs ram 8 gigs crucial vengeance and another 4 gigs 1600mhz ram
i7 4700mq quad core
It may a little above his range but is the best.bet .....
Also if he is planning on gaming,lower res would be better as even the 750m ddr5 has issues with games on fhd......

Why don't you go out to the market and check devices with your friend, always use and check before buying , I have seen only some refurbished envy laptops online

We have a very tight schedule mate. We are in Uni till 5pm so its hard to go to the market for searching. But I'll tell him to search I just want to know any specific models that might be better than the rest in the price range and specifically new

If you get a laptop with 8750m , make sure that its gddr5 variant , but even the gddr5 variant for 8750m is slower than GDDR3 740M AND NVIDIA HAS MUCH BETTER DRIVERS AND GAME OPTIMIZATION FOR FOR LAPTOP GPUS AFAIK...

@winchester khan apart from the Lenovo these were the only 2 with dedicated graphics and non U processor but the tradeoff is that they are core i5 instead of i7. Also according to some reviews the 8750M's GDDR3 and GDDR5 variants are almost identical in performance due to the GDDR3 model having a higher core clock
