AoA All,

I am looking for an android in the market for a budget around 70k...
the key features that i would like to have are as follows:
1) at least a 720p display
2) Good battery life (one day battery life is not enough)
3) 1.5Ghz processor
4) Nvidia tegra 3 if possible.

Pease recommend me some android phones that fall in the above criteria mentioned. Thanks in advance. (y)

blade! Save the cash. Mobile World Congress is just 1 months ahead and A LOT of terrific phones are going to be launched. My personal favorites being:
1. ZTE Grand S
2. Xperia Z

In my opinion, now is not a good time to waste such amount of cash.

If you have to purcahse one now, then yeah i agree on the Galaxy Note 2. Huge SuperAMOLED gorgeous screen, very think sleek profile, 2GB RAM ... its a good enough power house. However, the size may become a problem at first because lets just admit it, its just too big for a Phone.

HTC Butterfly. Can't believe people are preferring a Note 2 over this.
Do you have some kind out grudge against Samsung

Note II is kind of a mini PC.

Htc butterfly is capable device but it can't match the level of support note II enjoys.

Hmmm lets see
 • Incredible 1080p IPS display
 • Power efficient, possibly faster S4 Pro chipset
 • Elegant looking UI
 • Better looking/built phone
 • Better ergonomics
So yes, Note 2 is not better. He said he wants a PHONE, not a mini PC.

HTC M7 seems to be a better bet.
Sense is just resource hog without any practical implications.
Xperia Z's launcher (which I using right now on galaxy s) is light and fast but it lacks a features.
Note II last upto 3 days with normal use
S-pen has no substitute.

Rest are your personal preferences.

As for support HTC had already declared war against developers

First they locked the bootloader, now they are going after the RUU/firmware hosts

They're removing official leaked firmwares which they are fully entitled to do so. Custom ROMs are still available( i don't think you've heard of a little site called XDA) and HTC officially provides bootloader unlocking. So kindly keep sensationalist statements to yourself.

Yes, try rooting a HTC butterfly without wiping a single bit. (Unlocking boatloader wipes data):p

Unlocking bootloader will void warranty officially.

While you can root a Samsung device just by pushing root apk
Sony is releasing even alpha version of their roms

Stock based Rom require stock roms:p

Is the developer community for HTC dying? If the answer to that question is no then there's nothing else to discuss on this matter.

Answer to this it will shrink, just like it did any phone for which proper support was not provided by manufacturer or it was withdrawn ( Windows phone 7 being a prime example)
Many device forums on xda are now ghost town because major developers left when they didn't get proper support.

guys guys guys chill out :D I didn't wanted to start a phone war here..
Actually before posting this thread I was looking at two options which were Samsung Note II and HTC Butterfly..and I stumbled onto this video by phone arena:
The Pro about the HTC Butterfly is basically the screen which is 1080p and a 440 pixel density in an inch which is unbelievable
The Pro about the Note II is superior battery life
The only thing that is putting me off about the HTC butterfly is the battery, 2020 mAH which should have been better... abobobilly , you said to wait for better phones... When will they actually hit our market ? one thing you should know about me is that I hate to wait... If this week I am thinking about getting a phone I will either buy one or will never buy one for the foreseeable future... I was contemplating between a LED 3d Tv or a new phone... Currently a new phone seems more appropriate ...
So what are the current good options that one can go for apart from Samsung Note II and HTC Butterfly...?

As Samsung has official supply chain in Pakistan, so Galaxy GT-I9500 will launch on the same day as the rest of the world.

Xperia Z will be available 1 weeks after international launch (Sony doesn't provide local warranty IMHO )

HTC M7 will be available with brightex whenever it is launched

According to some (not me) 250ppi is enough for a phone. So don't go after this better screen argument.

Note II has got a quite capable screen (one of the best Super Amoled around)

Also Samsung has a better firmware support even this old boy (DOB 2011) had got Official jelly beans.

Jelly beans 4.2 is expected in March for Note II

Galaxy S3 and HTC One X are ur other options but they are in the 50k Price Range

I myself own an HTC One X and pretty satisfied with it and hence i will recommend HTC Butterfly as i would buy it myself in ur position BUT its Battery Life cannot match Note II's

HTC Butterfly looks like an elephant took a shit on it. The name sounds ridiculous (especially if you're a guy).
I'd wait for the Xperia Z. It's beautiful, specs look pretty decent and it's Sony :p
