my ptcl 256 kbs speed

i have 256 kbs dsl now it's change to 512 but my download speed isn't increase .still my download speed is 25 kb

I also have PTCL DSL and yes its true that all 256kbps accounts will be shifted to 512kbps. But that will happen between 11th-14th March.

Talk to the guys at PTCL helpline if you want more conformation.

yup...i concur with u guys too...i called on march 1st n they said it would take 10-14 days to shift current 256 customers to 512.

on a side note....i have a zyxel modem and my connection every now n again keeps dropping....the fone line has no interference or noise at all.......asked them to change the modem which they'll do by tomm........is huawei modem any better than zyxel?

I'm using zyxl and it's working fine and downloaded more than 30g in a month plus using 360 live.

I have a close relative in PTCL, all connections will be upgraded on 15th of March, and well I am getting good speed on my 1MBps (115-120KB/sec) and I am using a HUAWEI MT880 modem. (unfortunately now PTCL is not offerning this modem, and according to many users this modem is quite good , I guess I am lucky).

I don't think thats the case Inferno because I got my connection only a week ago and they gave me Huawei MT880...

@ shayan (regarding xboxlive)......ive noticed onething with NAT...with it being open it took quite a longtime to find me matches plus majority of the time it failed to connect to any matches.....but with NAT in strict mode i was able to find matches in a snap with no probs watso eva.. Now all this has been the case with COD4 dun have any other multiplayer game to test. So im back on strict mode.


Well i hope they do bring HUAWEI modem tomm then...n fingers crossed i hope i have complete control over the NAT feature on that modem too (i.e i can open NAT or opt for strict mode in xboxlive)
