I primarily use PTCL's 8mbit, but because it's not always reliable, and because my work requires me to have internet access 24/7, I decided to look around for corporate fiber options. Mobilink was one of the two I was considering (the other being Supernet) because they service the entire office building where my mamoo currently works. Got better rates with them.
Connection is 2mbit, dedicated. SLA was quoted as 98% (they'll send over the contract for signing). Pricing is steeper than what most of you might be used to; 15k/month, but works well for me as a backup to my 8mbit DSL, and I'm kinda glad it includes an SLA (cumulative downtime greater than 15 hours in a month will qualify for service credit).
For those that don't know, Mobilink's bandwidth is also supplied by Transworld, so I see vastly improved latencies to pretty much ALL my regular destination routes. A lot less hops too.
And for those interested, the fiber is fed directly into my room, spliced, and hooked to a media converter. Location is PECHS Block 2 (Karachi). PTCL apparently does not have fiber infrastructure here, yet Mobilink somehow seems to have (although not directly, but via an independent vendor).
I don't seem to be able to burst above my assigned rate of 2mbit (I was secretly hoping I would be able to), but that's not a major disappointment. It's great, and I hook up the fiber for pretty much all my online gaming; downloads run smoothly on my DSL. Might look into bonding both the connections at some point in the near future.
Feel free to post here if you'd like some comparison pings to certain servers/ips between my PTCL DSL and Mobilink fiber.
P.S: Been mostly a lurker around here, great source of information this specific category.
