Metal Gear is known for many MANY things, innovative or engaging game play not being one of them.

It brought and revolutionized the whole stealth-genre, introduced it to the world...

The over-the-top, sneaking your way in everything was great...
And with the sequels, the gameplay expanded, peeking around the corners, shooting cameras in FPS view, hanging from a rail...

Hence MGS games have always presented the player with the option of playing a game in multiple ways...

psh..Kojima doesn't need to do hack & slash! Just like Shinji Mikami doesn't need to do a 2d fighting game =\

These guys are best at what they do in their own genres/fields of work.

The character models are nicely detailed, the environments are kinda dull but honestly @ 60 fps all-out mayhem, who gives a shit about those? Besides you can cut them to bits. (sm1)
