Which transmission system do you prefer in cars?

Almost all American cars are auto, but I learnt to drive back home on good ol manuals and thats what I prefer. Makes driving more fun, because it actually takes some effort and skill.

i think manual cars are good for Pakistan very hard to handle automatic cars in Karachi's roads.... there is not good roads in Karachi i think (some roads are good) but not all and what about the rain season the roads are ........... so i prefare manual cars

I prefer manual transmission because the way I drive on the karachi raods I don't think so a automatic transmission can handle that in other words I want more control over the car.

Automatic cars are good for clear roads and long relaxing drive..

i prefer automatics as far as sedans go, but for jeeps or small hatchbacks i prefer manual. learnt to drive on a 96 model land cruiser 2

Manuals are good than automatic it'll take some skills and Its feel good when you try to handle the manual.

Automatic is almost as good as the manual ones. The only advantage for the manual is that you have more control over the turns. Instead of using brakes you can use the gears for some awesome results. The same thing is followed in games as well . However, the overdrive thing in the automatic cars takes the cake. My Vitz is automatic and when you use it on Over Drive then its hell lot of fun.

I prefer manual man. Heck, one of my hands is always on the shifter and one on steering (power steering BTW).
It just doesn't quite feel like driving when on auto transmission.

Manual Transmission give better acceleration
U can choose to push every gear to its Higher RPM limits for better acceleration

U can choose to shift before hitting around 3.5K RPM for a smoother ride and fuel conservation (Like Parents do )

autos just feel.... dead to me. i want to hear the engine grunt in 1st gear and move through daryae karachi i.e. ma jinnah road in july.

1st gear ... revv her up and pop the clutch ... revvs on the limit, tires squeal and zooom away if you got the revvs rite

That is my favorite thing to do! Although I felt guilty doing it to my parents cars, when I buy my own car that is the only way I'm going to get going. Jahil driving FTW.

When you have your own car and you love it. You never do that ...

... I have done it maybe once or twice from a standstill. On roll kee hogi thori dafa (boost zindabad, makes them wheels spin like crazy) ... else no ... I love my clutchhh! Plus a replacment costs 7k
