Well all my friends who used to play CS1.6 4-5 years ago went to DOTA in 2008 till last year, when they finally moved to LoL. So I think its gaining its popularity from all over the world this way 
^ This is only the EU WEST server. They have separate US, SEA, EU EAST, RUSSIA, SOUTH AMERICA servers lol

I just love this game. The community is terrible(on normal games, on ranked games most people are actually nice)

I just downloaded it and made an account but I can't seem to log in. neither at website or in game client. it says username or password wrong. I know both are right as I made the account 5 minutes ago then I tried recovering the username using my email address and they sent me the mail with my account name which was same I was trying. then I tried recovering my password at website and it just says that account doesn't exist Now I am stuck can't sign in again as it says that username email already in use.
I think your client version is different then where you made your ID. Make sure it is EU in both cases.
When u start game before login see there is a "change region" option on the lower left side. Change it to north america
I would suggest you to make an account in the EUW region. Ofc you could mistakenly make an account in teh NA region(the region selection in the registration site is nearly unnoticable -.-).
Ofc if you want to play with your NA account, then just change the region of your client when you launch lol. But youre gonna get pings above 300+ which matter ALOT when you are against opponents as skilled as you

The high queue problem comes right after a new patch is deployed. Everyone instantly tries to reconnect at the same time creating the said queue. It gets resolved after a couple of hours.Just tried to login to LOL after there new LEAGUE PATCH and damn I cant login for an hour.
