Laptop Replacement Screen

Hi guys,

My laptop (Acer Aspire E1-572) although pretty old, has been servicing me excellently for the work I need, but due to frequent travelling I have an issue with the screen. It's filled with vertical lines on the left third of the screen. Initially it started with one line that would go away at a certain angle but eventually it stopped going away and started increasing in number (every time post travel. I think it has to do with the way pressure gets applied on it...). Later, I opened up the entire laptop and reduced the issue by maybe 85% but they were still there. A year or so later, and they're all back again, so now I'm just thinking I'll go with a new screen altogether.

1- I am in Pakistan till Eid. Any chance I can get a good screen from here?

2- I can order from the States. Anyone know of any good, reliable websites?

3- Can I put in a screen of higher resolution or will that not work? Currently I have 1366x768. Can I replace it with 1920x1080? Will it be perfectly compatible?

If you do find a 1920x1080 screen with the same connector, just keep in mind, sometimes the brightness control won't work.

You'll probably be able to find it in techno city, take your laptop with you. Alot of times, compatible screens are available for common sizes and connectors.

You will find a compatible LED in computer market in Karachi for sure. However, it won't be of high quality or a perfect replacement in terms of it's display vs original Acer one.
Th reason behind is the 3rd party LED manufacturing. Of course, they wouldn't be a 100% match for what Acer in manufacturing.

I don't see any online web-store having that particular model LED. So in Pakistan, your best bet is to physically survey the shops like the one mentioned in previous comment, Techno City.

3. Yes if you can find a laptop in the same series with a higher resolution and same physical size. More important is the connector which is usually (but not always) similar in a series (see above)

Thanks! Biggest problem with eBay is most people ship only to the PayPal verified address and my PayPal address is somewhere they won't be able to ship at the moment :/
Amazon looks like a good option. If nothing else works out, sounds like the next best option. Thanks!

Read up on it a while ago. Most people say that 1920x1080 screens use a different cable? idk. They say a screen AND a connector cable replacement is required but it's fine otherwise. Sounded absurd to me, but I guess it is what it is.

One thing most of the guys are missing that, almost each laptop these days comes with multiple specs. Like budget version of same laptop will have i3 and HD resolution, while the i7 version will have full HD resolution.

Just visit the local market and ask for the replacement screen. Otherwise get it upgraded from the abroad.

Best option is to replace exact same part number.....
Part number is usually on back of lcd near connector......
Try aliexpress and ship item to us address...
And search you tube for screen replacement tutorial for ur model...
Do it yourself ....
Branded Lcds are usually made by lg sharp & samsung....
