Laptop OverHeating ?

Hye Guyz ,

Problem:
I have a Dell N5010 Laptop i play small games like Red Alert 2 and League of Legends On it occasionally !! . But yesterday i was playing league of legends on it and suddenly the laptop Completely shuted down . I started it again and started the game again and sadly the same problem .

What i DID :
As i have a original window installed on it i updated everything the Drivers ( Chipset, Intel HD graphics ) all of them . As league of legends is a free online game and it regularly updates itself . SO i went to options and selected Repair install to find any missing Files or updates to put it but it was okay . Then today I tried to play the game but the same thing happened the Whole laptop shutted Down completely within a Second .

I played Red Alert 2 Yuris revenge But it runs fine without a hiccup and played for Hours .

As league of legends is a very important game to me and i play these small games on my laptop so i need to find a fix .

Urgent help required !

Check Temp Using Software And Physically......Make Sure Fans Are Working Inside And Air Vents Are All Clean.....!! You Can Get A Good Cooling Pad For Your Laptop....!!

Probably Your GPU Is heating Up....Maybe Some Lints or Dust Might get Inside....Get It Cleaned And I Would Suggest To Use Good Thermal paste Like Arctic Silver On processor Heatsink And GPU..

It will Be Solved.....Try Cooling Pad 1st..And Make Sure There's No Lint And Dust Clogging Fan or Air Vents

Checked for dust and stuff but there aint any ! . and still having the prob !! :/

Update :

Was running some tests using the Dell Checkup . The Hard Drive gave me a Error for a Bad sector !!

Try running HD Tune, (not a quick scan) see if it picks any bad sector. These laptops have so many issues these days with HDDs!

Dude If Its Overheating issue...It Have Nothing To Do With Hard Drive...!!

For Bad Sectors....Scan It Using Hd tune.....If There's Any

Backup Your Data....Delete partitions And Format Your Drive.....!! Sometimes Formatting It Will Get rid Of Them....!!

Tip: If Bad Sectors Are Still There.....Install Your HDD In Other Pc And Make Small partition.....And Check In which partition Bad Sectors Are.....Leave It Unused ....Don't Copy Any Data There.....!! It Will Be Good And Use Rest of Hard Drive ..

Else Replace Hard Drive....!!

System Shut downs Are Most Likely Cause of Overheating......Make Sure Your Lappy Is Running Cool In Safe And Sound Temp Range While running Games....Use GPU-Z And Other Softwares To Check Temp

Yar waisay online games nowdays do put cpu/gpu under quite a load. Take facebook poker and howzat cricket for example

Not So Much.....It all Depends On Your Spec....!! If PC Is Heating ...It will Heat On Any Kind Of Load....either Game application Or Whatever It Is

When that other game works fine it might be some issue with your battery when your system heats up. I have experienced playing Crysis on the same laptop as yours. It did HEAT up bad, but no shutting down or anything. In your power options change power plan to "Balanced Recommended" if its not, and try the game after that.

UPDATE :
Cleaned up the registry using CCleaner , uninstalled the game got a new copy from a Friends PC . But the problem remained !!.

Used the Balanced and High Performance Mode But still no effect !.

I dont understand how to Cure this Problem i really need it Cured ! . LOL is my life i think because of the Bad sector but why doesnt it effect other games !.

You say when you play LOL "online" your laptop shuts down. This might be specific case with LAN on the laptop causing CPU to overheat. Normally Windows 7 uses CPU for Network traffic but if you enable DMA for Network Module. It may reduce stress on CPU.

Try this optimizer with Optimal settings. make sure you backup your settings first using this program and do not touch any setting, just select optimal after selecting your internet speed above.

( As a test case, put some stress on LAN module, Like downloading torrents, while watching videos on youtube for a while ).

BTW Second gen CPUs have Graphics Card on die. This problem can be safely traced back to CPU overheating problem. Get your laptop serviced (Cleaning insides) if nothing helps.

Maybe Bad Sectors Are Only Bothering That Area of Your Hard Drive......!!!

Shut Down Case Is Mostly Because Of Overheating....I Still Say Check 1st....U Will Feel It Overheating ....!! Check CPU Load And GPU Temp When PC Is On Gaming Load....!!!

Update :

Lowered the settings of the game . Played the game for about an Hour and a Half and then it shutted down . So i think it a Heating Problem . Now iam get the laptop serviced and get a cooler tomorrow !! .

I had same problem my n5010 with temp about 90 but when I use cooling pad it remains around 60
