Im surprised no one from here is playing on supercade or ggpo. It is just.. does not make any sense. It is quite possible you folks have not checked this out.
These programs run mame roms of street fighter type games and allow you to play multiplayer against each other. no matter what country you are in.. If the opponent is in the same country or even continent you will have a very smooth match.
supercade is the easiest to setup if you want a taste of things
GGPO is where pro american tournament fighters show up to rumble..infact i have seen many regulars in the kof98 room number 3

I am using qubee connection and on a router.have managed to setup everything properly with ports forwarded (very important) so i guess i could give some local centric advice
