Hey guyss ! For all the other people not living in Karachi ,don't be saddened ,you all have motorways .

So I'm back in Karachi for vacations,it's actually time to go back in a week, and recently I've started to feel unsafe in Karachi . PS: Karachi is my home and I'm not one of those burger kids . I've actually spent good amount of my life here .

my vacations started on 13th Jan and that's the day I flew back to Karachi . And for almost a month,I felt pretty comfortable and safe in Karachi.Last year when I visited,I usually kept a small Nokia phone with myself but now I use a S4 whenever I go outside (I travel in Qingqis and rickshaws btw,no car ) and I until now I wasn't reluctant to use it .But these last couple of days since the bomb blasts started happening again ,I've found a huge feeling of uneasiness . Just today a random woman was continously ringing our bell and asking for capsule or other medicine and after an hour of ignoring her bell rings, she finally nudged off . Yesterday,my neighbor ,he was on his bike at the gate(who lives upstairs on third floor) asked his wife to send some stuff down with the help of that basket-tied-to-a-rope and while his wife was throwing the basket down,2 folks on bike came and snatched his wallet, cellphones EVEN his bike keys which had the keys to the house . As a result we (of course the neighbors) have to change the keys of the gates .

Yesterday, when I was coming back home from visiting a friend, the traffic jam on Rashid Minhas road was also making me feel unsafe,i've been stuck in traffic before but at that moment in the rickshaw,I was paranoid that some A-hole on a bike will come and snatch shit off of me and when I passed the Imtiaz super store ,I saw 3/4 cop cars which did not satisfy me because I have little to no hope in cops here.I feel a lot safe when I see rangers on the street compared to police .

Karachiites on PG,share your recent experience ! Do you think I'm being too paranoid ?
To add to this,my dad has also forbidden me from going outside at night regardless of what reason ,this includes even bringing rotis or other chores whatsoever.

Recently crimes have increased again.
My friend got his phone snatched near sir syed university.
I dont know where you live but try to avoid walking or travelling on qingqi at night particularly in gulshan and gulistan e johar(the continental bakery wali road).
Be careful because they usually come on bikes and initially ask for directions.
Whenever someone asks for directions i just move away from them and say i don't know.
Just watch out if they're 2 people on a bike then dont tell directions.

It is not that bad as you're thinking.
I mean come on, you thought it was the coming of mujahideen again.

But yeah, you're being wayyyy too paranoid.

And as always, take precautions against walking in shady places and at nights.
Other than that, you're pretty safe in public places.

Stop being paranoid man, you footballay.

Well for me Karachi has always been like this. I keep a spare wallet and a sasta mobile phone with me all the time. Whenever I am out my actual mobile and wallet go in the dash or in the side seat cover and the spare ones closer to me incase I need to give them away. Traffic jams have always made me paranoid and I usually keep my car in the middle lane to avoid bikes as they usually tend to be in the left lane(or right if there is a turn ahead). I don't have the statistics but in my opinion while all other crimes have gone down, street crimes are still there at the same pace if not higher. Probably I'm being a bit too paranoid but I have given away 3 mobile phones and 1 laptop at gun point so I have a reason there.

But apart from all of its flaws KARACHI IS LOVE!

Karachi desperately needs to be divided into smaller parts, it's more like a province than a city.

Damn!
I feel insecure too since the day I landed in here, Karachi, 6 months ago and more scared than ever after my S5 got snatched bout more than 3 months ago.
Besides that the "insecurity" thing don't even exist when I'm in Saudi.
And just recently our neighbours got robbed by 6 young lads *each with a gun* that appeared out of thin air in a society with guards for each street.

Actually, I would argue on the contrary.

When I visited Karachi Dec 16/ Jan 17 , I felt Karachi had actually improved. The street crimes might have slightly increased but I was much more concerned about people losing lives, bombs, target killers, mafias and other serious stuff.

Hopefully our police will pull their heads out of their butts and improve

No disrespect mate but what in the world made you take a smartphone outside your house ? I have a couple of friends here who have never even inserted sim cards in their smartphones .

One thing is for sure,do not boast/show off in Karachi, you will regret it ,trust me. I feel unsafe when I wear good clothes when i'm leaving home and those line of stares I get everywhere.

Never trust police and even rangers especially the police cars at the end of roads like continental because they themself are involved mugging and crimes, keep an eye on the masi and never let her get the door, stay away from crowded places with lots of bikes, always keep a cheap phone with yourself, wear plain shirts and jeans you can wear shades and a snap back hat, if you have a beard then thats a plus because you'll look badass so people wont mess with you and talk in urdu and curse a lot and makes friends with connections and you're all set.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
