Is my mobo dead?

Salam guys. Last night my PC refused to boot up. I have a Simple PC no extra components apart from a PCI LAN card. My mobo is DG41RQ. It gives a beep on starup, the display shows on screen and another beep and then it goes for windows. That's the normal routine. Last night however it gave a beep just one and no beep. I tried resitting the ram and psu connectors lekin us say woh jo ek beep tha woh bhi gaya. I tried another psu but to no gain. I tried booting without the ram but NO beeps. so the ram is probably fine and Psu is too. Now it's either the mobo or CPU. What do you guys think?

repairing a mobo is bad idea,imo its better to upgrade rather than buying the same mobo again

Take out the mobo,remove all components.
power it up,it should beep because of no cpu memory etc,if it doesnt,its dead probably.

Asus r shit mobos....this is my 2nd dead one in 3 years...go for another company

And could someone tell me k motherboards ki warranty kitni hoti hai? If it really is three years to set hai cuz i bought it in march 2011, then I can RMA it

^ Sure Rma it, they'll replace it for u within a month give it to the person u bought it from to avail the warranty.

Bro let me tell you this,3 years warranty is fake,your warranty is for only 1 year but some dealers like Shingtec falsely tell their customers that they have 3 yrs warranty,when after 1yr you go to them they'll charge you for the repair or parts just like they do to someone who comes to them for repairs without any warranty.

This is my own personnel story,i went to shingtec to repair my Viewsonic lcd which had no warranty and i had bought it from galaxy.By a strange twist of fate as i was sitting there waiting for my turn,another person was already sitting there to repair his lcd and which was the exact model as mine and it had the same problem and he had bought it from them 2 yrs ago with the so called 3yrs warranty.Mine was also 2 years old.This guy had brought it in the hope that they will give him a new one or they will repair it free of cost.The senior incharge of warranty took a look at his lcd and told him point blank he'll have to pay 4000 to repair his lcd and his wrnty is over after 1yr,after that you have to pay for everything.He told me also the exact same figure for repairs,i changed my mind and sold it to him for 1k.3 yrs wrnty is pure bollocks,its just a sales gimmic.

Yar intel ki claim ho jati hai. Shingtec are frauds. I had an Asus it was just a lil older than a year. I took i for RMA. Firstly he said it's in bad condition since some parts have rust. i said we live in karachi jis material ko zang lag sakta hai usay lagega. khair he said they'll try to repair it . I said if it can't be repaired then will it be replaced ? he said no since your mobo has rust and is not in good condition. Khair I was hoping against hope that they'd repair it. One day they call me and tell me it's repaired. I get it home try it. it boots first but then the problem persists. Now check their strategy I took it back to them. he cam out after 10 mins saying that you had bent it's pins and we corrected them yet the mobo could not be saved. I argued that it did boot right once meaning that i had placed the cpu correctly, but to no gain. So yeah Shingtech guys rip people off. that's why i bought intel after that even though i llike asus mobos, it's their shingtec warranty that can't be trusted.

Yes, i claimed my mobo's warranty from another dealer,the one i bought it from was not offering it.
I claimed it after 2 years.

@Cerebus:What exactly do you mean,in your earlier post you said its possible to claim wrnty after 1yr but in your later post you say its not possible,bury the board.Could you be more specific?

Yeah galaxy and czone only give a one year warranty. I find it weird and unfair :-/

I think that the full warranty only lasts for one year. After that it's limited warranty which means you will have to pay for repairs.
