That's called the recovery mode, try the following software to fix it:
- tiny umbrella
- recboot

What do you mean thats its on recovery mode? Sorry but its not exactly my iPod and I don't own any apple products. Also I googled them both but it seems like they are for iPad's and iPhone's :/
I would be very grateful if you could directly give me the links and tell me what exactly to do since I don't want to screw up the iPod any more.
dude i had ipod nano 3rd gen, i also came through this issue, recovering the software thru itunes worked for me

So i just found out that f***ing s***bag Microsoft shut down Arkane Studio (makers of the brilliant Dishonored series) and Tango Gameworks (makers of the iconic The Evil Within series), among some other studios. Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
