Ipod touch 8 GB jailbreak...

K guys i am having some prob jail breaking my i pod touch 8gb.I have fw 3.1.2 and i am using black rain to jailbreak it.but whenever i jailbreak it says wait for reboot in the black rain software, and my i pod touch switches off by itself..Then a message appears in i tune and says u have to restore Ur i phone to factory settings in order to make it work.....My i phone doesn't turn on if i don't restore, and when it is restored the jailbreak software isn't in it..Plz anyone help..i really wanna jailbreak it...

Its actually quite simple... once make sure that you have upgraded to 3.1.2 from iTunes... Close the iTunes software after that, if you are running windows vista or 7; then make sure to turn the compatibility to Windows XP for the blackra1n.exe.. then run blackra1n, and click 'make it ra1n'...your ipod will restart and blackRa1n app will be there... install Cydia or Rock from there... Make sure you follow exactly these steps, and if the problem still persists then let me know.

Cydia has the most stuff.
ICE was known as "Installer" long time ago (With FW 1.1 etc) but has returned with the newer FW and stuff.
Dont know about "Rock" seems interesting. Will check it out when I update to 3.1.2

If your new iPod Touch 2G/3G 8g model number starts with MB it'll work, if your model starts with MC it won't. Go to Settings - General - About to see your model number.
Besides if anything goes wrong during the jailbreak den manually reboot ur device.
U can manually reboot ur device by holding the home and switch off/on button for atleast 20 sec
dis will reboit no matter wat state ur device is in.
Another thing is dat da blackra1n jailbreak is a tethered jailbreak for 3g.
