iPod2G with iOS 4.0/4.1 users, can anyone advise which fw version should I upgrade to ? Does the multitasking drain the battery 2 much or does it become intolerably slow? Any other advice regarding update? I'm currently on ios 3.1.3.

jst remain on ur current os i.e 3.1.3
or if u wsh thn update to 4.0 wud b a better choice

3.1.3 is best for you, but if u really want to upgrade then upgrade to 4.0.1 because 4.0 is not suitable for iphone 3g or ur idevice, it will be very slow on ur device,and its my personal experience.

Ok Guys I didn't have the time to go through the number of pages that this thread has. So I am going to ask a basic question. If we Jail Break i phone 4 can we pirate all the applications on sale on the app store for free? If so can we use the online functionality of the apps. Can we connect to app store with jail broken i phone 4 that has pirated apps installed?

there is an app called installous available at cydia( a sort of app/tweak store. installed after jailbreak). though installous u can download and install paid apps for free just like App store. alternatively u can download .ipa files on pc and sync with itunes. never tried online functionability. but i think it should work.
and yes after jailbreak, u can connect to App store just as before and download free apps and updates.

2. My friend has been playing multiplayer modern combat 2 first person shooter online on his jailbroken iphone4. I don't know about the other apps but hes gaming online (with cracked app).

Yes, gamecenter aka mutiplayer function will work fine after the jailbreak, however do not upgrade your phone to IOS 4.2.1 as it don't have a proper untethered jailbreak available.

There is no such thing as "official release" of anything related to unlocking. Unlock/crack for 4.2 has got nothing to do with release of 4.3.
