I never ordered online Internationally, saw this thread and I hoped could get some help.

Last year, I ordered usb module from dealxtreme. Payment was done through credit card successfully but the item was delivered.
I queried dx.com but they said the item is already shipped.
@Jshak can you guide where the item should have arrived in Karachi/Pakistan like post office etc? so I can pick it from there.

Shipments are getting delayed again. Anyone else facing such issue as well ?

One of my package from USA posted on 21 November is not received as yet nor any tracking data is available on Pakistan Post website.

Jshak ,I want to order a stuffed toy (Minions from Despicable me ) to gift as a present to my sibling later this month.First I was looking at buying it online (From a chinese online mall where it would get shipped to me) and then sending it through FedEx/DHL/Chinapost to Pakistan but then it hit me what if I buy it directly from Alibaba.com and send it to Pakistan.I wanted your advice whether it would reach on the doorstep without any hurdles because I want to send it as a gift .I hear Alibaba has a lot of deals with free shipping so I would save on that front too .What is your advice on this ?

Border-free Checkout

Can anyone share his experience of Border Free checkout provided by various fashion and other brands in US and Europe?

I was thinking of ordering some ralph lauren items from their official website. However, apart from courier charges, they are charging slightly more than the total order value as "Duties & Taxes". Are the clothing items charged 100% import duty?

Also, there is an option to pay duties and taxes upon delivery. Will that change anything?

The order will be shipped through DHL.

Please share your experiences. Thanks!

DHL has been quite expensive since they take a premium and also get items to your door themselves after clearing with the customs themselves.

I believe that is your big part.
and i dont know about the taxes rate on the clothing, should vary from 17-20%
Jshak might know better about this, he deals in this kind of stuff. Why not do it through him?

Yeah, I have asked him for a quote. Lets see how much difference it will make.
DHL's charges are quite ridiculous!

Custom clearance suggestion dhl

Guys I am importing projector from China hongkong to Pakistan through dhl express courier. So i need some proper best suggestion that what i can ask to seller to declare the amount of projector? Or anything else i can do to clear the duties? The real cost of projector is about 600USD.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated :)

DHL will clear it for you and the appraiser will decide the value on his/her own. You can declare whatever you like, wont make much difference.

Bro i know the dhl will gonna pay by itself.
Actually, somedays ago i ordered a projector which invoice was about 250$ and dhl charged me 12000/-. So now i don't want to pay such expensive amount again. So i am deciding to declare the invoice 50USD and ask seller to mark it as a gift. Frankly, i don't have little experience on custom policies so that's why i need your suggestion what to do? Am i thinking correct to declare such things?

dhl is expensive when it comes to duty... they will google the price, declaring anything won't matter like normal importing

You can try for 50USD. Custom duty is charged on the freight charges as well which you cant hide as DHL themselves are the courier. But declaring it lower can reduce the custom duty if you are lucky but for electronics its a bit hard because they can just google it and see the price for themselves.

That wouldnt change much.

For Taxes :

Everyone on want's cheap items. But internationally it's entire different. Customs are supposed to support the Govt in many flayed reasons and every custom rule is being operated Internationally is under " Operative of Countries Logistics " rule.
I seen with my own experience, that Fed-ex and DHL operating in Pakistan have some weird charges that might hurt and also would increase a substanstial amount on your item.
They operate at per day charges at ICG ( khi , lhr , isb ) airports and they have to pay some charges like per hour as well. The faster you claim to relase your item, the less chances of getting the item to more expensive.

Electronics have a duty of upto 77% in total with some charges like D.R, G.S.T, CAA fee, insurance and damage charges per day, port landing fee, GD and more.
Agents in such domains are supposed to get you a discount upto 35 percent including " greasing " and unfortunately this is our culture in Pakistan. Offical personals like Govt and Armed forces, bureaucrats have to pay like 21%. Ask for someone who can help u in your " personal " case.

In this regard Jshak has more experience who can help you in a more detailed manner, if you havent imported it yet. Maybe he can do it for you at a reasonable amount.

Hey guys,

I just ordered a Xiaomi Mi5 from Aliexpress using DHL. It is expected to arrive next week. I have been looking at the procedure available on PTA's site. http://www.pta.gov.pk/media/ta/sop_ta_noc_210915.pdf

Wanted to ask: what is meant by "commercial invoice"? Do I need to give the invoice with the actual value of the item? or does this mean the invoice that the seller will provide to DHL? Seller has informed me that they will declare a value of $60 and declare it as gift.

Will the item be with DHL or the regular customs office in Chaklala Cant? Previously when I have ordered electronic items, they arrived there. I have some contacts there and can probably get my device out without NOC. But this is the first time I'll be dealing with DHL.

Also, has anyone had any recent experience in getting the NOC? Is the process faster or more streamlined now or should I expect khwari? Can you get this directly from their head office in Islamabad if you visit them and provide the documents?

Any words of wisdom you can maybe offer @Jshak ?

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
