Playstation Insomniac Games is acquired by "SONY" PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios

Sony has purchased the California-based game studio Insomniac Games, best known for last year’s Spider-Man on PS4. Insomniac will become an exclusive PlayStation developer, Sony says.

Insomniac is also the creator of Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, and Sunset Overdrive, an Xbox exclusive that probably won’t be getting any sequels.

Unfortunate for them they bought some studios (Obsidian) which are still finishing up their current game, so it will be a few years before we start seeing meaningful output from their recent acquisitions.

Yeah, which is more the reason why they should bring back Resistance because that franchise has a lot of potential and presumably a good fan base that'll turn a new game into a success.

Resistance had a good ending with the third game, I would rather they invest in a new IP.

Though both their primary FPS studios (Insomniac and Guerilla) have found much more success making third person games. I doubt they're in a rush to go back to the FPS genre.
