basically we have to design and build a fuel efficient vehicle and go and race it in the event held annually in different parts of the world. this year the event is being held in malaysia! . heres the link if ur interested to read up on it.

http://www.shell.com/eco-marathon

now i am facing a problem if any of you guys know some one who can help out.

i need to import an engine, yes thats rite! we have decided to import the honda gx50 engine which can be found here:

http://www.honda.ca/enginesEng/models/GXH/GX50/default.htm

now if anybody knows the procedure? or if anyone can help import it for us? any information regarding this will be very helpful!

also our team is looking for sponsors for our project, so if anyone has a big company, or knows anyone that we can get in contact with please let me know asap thanks !!

i have built a small website aswell, where u can see our official letter of participation:)

well its kindda a race, finishing first isnt the priority though, u have to cover the most distance in a fixed amout of fuel they give u. BUT all the cars will be on the track at the same time!

anyway ive posted on pakwheels aswell. :)

Apart from importing the engine, waht will be your contribution in designing the car? areodynamics?

Also arrange a few people to push your car....that way you can cover a few miles on "Dhakka"

hmm that sound a bit more interesting. so why not use a deisel engine? and is there a time limit as well or any penalty on NOT being first or is distance covered the only priority?

and why not use a hybrid with batteries instead, that way u can decrease fuel consumption :)

well last year 4 teams from Pakistan participated, it was held in Germany.

this year 26 have REGSITERED, lets see how many finish their car. regarding designing, it is all done, as well as the chassis and body desigining. now we need some funds to help us get started :)

the biggest hurdle we are facing is sponsors, no one is willing to give out any money!! :(

and yes the event was covered by DAWN NEWS last year, i have the 30min program with me and will be uploading it to youtube in a few days :) this year it will take place in july (6-8th) in malaysia

You'll have to pay all the duties etc.

If you want to arrange something meaner ... like a 1JZ-GTE or a build block VTEC (n/a or turbo, as per choice) ... that I may be able to help wid :p

you should contact a custom clearing agent. There are a few near Lahore airport i suppose. The engine looks small and wont weigh much.May be the Honda people will send via courier, ans for a fee the clearing agent will go through all the hassle of customs.

These things never come in the news. There was a pakistani competing in Formula one,and pakistani media never reported anything about him. I have stopped reading Geo news as tehy are on the mission of reporting everything negative about the country. All i read is load shedding,Mehengaii, No gas, NO aataa, Suicide wirdos and nothing positive. If people like you are given a place in pakistani news channels and papers,it will help in rebuilding the national morale which is now at the lowest.

If nobody knows about you guys, nobody is gona sponsor you.Better ask some newspapers and news channels to give you some coverage,so that people come to know what you are doing and hopefully you will get sponsors.

@Baron1

Considered searching the local market for such an engine ?

As for fuel economy ... those Honda 50 motorcycle engines are damn good on fuel ... Im sure you can work on them to improve fuel economy (better spark, better seal, higher compression, a different carby perhaps). Even though you have decided on this engine, search the market for fuel economic engines as available in the local market.

It will cost you less! And spare part availability will be a plus too!

were going to test it on a local engine and since it will be second hand, it is highly likely that its fuel efficieny wont be that good, so thats why we plan to import a new one for our final test runs and tune that as per our requirements

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
