Also, if you look at the number of reviews for both games, TLOU has nearly twice as many taken into account. Therefore, it's easier for GTA V to maintain a higher metascore.

lol really? GTA V is on two platforms so naturally the number of reviews would be distributed between the two platforms. Unless you know how Metacritic weighs different critic opinions in the scores, this point has no basis at all.

I hope you aren't making this claim on the basis of that Radeon HD 5770 you had not too long ago. lol

Some of the reviews with higher weightage (e.g. IGN) are common between both platforms. There really is no way to determine what the metascore would've been, had a proper aggregate been taken of all unique reviews (based on Metacritic's weightage system). Would the metascore have been the same if there was such an aggregate? Maybe, maybe not. That's the point.

It is sad to see that the two best games of year aren't on the best gaming platform. My vote goes to Bioshock Infinite.

For the last f*cking time. I stated that I've only played The Last of Us from that list as a matter of fact. And I haven't said that the other games on that list are bad games, I've only mentioned why I think they don't deserve the GoTY award.

i've played both GTA5+Infinite and TLOU is on download but my GOTY is Infinite. GTA5 is good...ok its amazing but like the oscars, GOTYs are not determined by blockbuster earnings and fame alone. Bioshock Infinite seems like the best contender for GOTY in my books but this statement may change after i play TLOU.

Yeah, thats the point. We don't know so its hard to say if its "easier" for GTA V to maintain a higher score or not. Needless to say those games are extremely rare which have scored 97 with 40+ critic reviews.
