Same with me.Once you start using mac, windows 7 seems obsolete. My last laptop had a graphics crash with windows 7 which compelled me to switch to stable mac os.Iam still getting used to it,but I overall feel it is worth it once i get to know how to use it.Sure windows pc have alot to offer in terms of features and performance, but the truth of the matter was,I was never gonna use that power anyway,I just do casual gaming and thats it,no big softwares nothing.

And you could run a mac os on a windows pc,but it is not the same as on a true mac,you dont get the awesome touchpad(which makes mac os more refined then windows),I would feel like a mac wannabe if i run mac os on a windows laptop, there is no official mac os for windows so you get one which is tweaked and causes problems and Overall I love the build of the mac.It will last me atleast 3-4 years for sure, and that cannot be said if i got a modern windows laptop. No wonder no one has regretted buying a macbook.I will get some basic videos for mac features tomorrow, and Im sure I will appreciate it even more then I do now.Oh yeah,I will upload pics tomorrow.Iam actually too lazy to charge my digicam.

Well I guess personal satisfaction is everything :)

.
No wonder no one has regretted buying a macbook.
Nobody ever says they made the wrong choice regarding anything, its human nature to think what you did was the best :|

It will last me atleast 3-4 years for sure, and that cannot be said if i got a modern windows laptop.
My laptop is working since 4 years, just like new, and my old PC since 5-6 years. So thats just not true :)

Thats not true :p

Anyways, congratulations! I have used a mac book a couple of times and an imac many times, the best thing about them is the keyboard, I just love the keyboard, that is one of the reasons I got a samsung R580, its K/B is also very similar to a macbooks k/b.

dude, you should have gone for an iMac (if portabilty wasn't an issue) I bought it recently for about 1,25k and loving it, so it was just a couple of more thousands and it was on :p anyways Mac's always a wise choise regardless to what everyone else says :p Big CONGRATS :D and welcome to Apple Family :p
for a desktop, that's abouut the worst choice if you're a pc gamer. you cant upgrade your hardware manually

Everyone has different values.I wanted better, reliable, portable easy to use software and sturdy, well built hardware with good appeal. The macbook is perfect for me.Iam safe from all those defects windows has.
You also do realize that Mac OSX has errors and stability issues as well ?

You do also realize that the Mac OSX isnt exactly better due to its lack of compatible software, and hence not portable either since you cant just get a software from it from just about anywhere.

You do realize that your 'Well Built' hardware is EXACTLY the same thing you get in a PC. Its all Intel inside buddy. Same thing ... only costs a hell lot cus its an Apple

You do realize that you can run PROPER MAC OSX on any PC now thanks to the fact that the OS is supposed to work on the same hardware as a PC.

:/

All hell ... how can you play GAMES on a Mac ... ... thats just wrong!

lolz. I can't even remember the last time Win7 or XP SP3 BSoDed on me (excluding hardware problems of course). And just as everyone said, Mac hardware is EXACTLY the same as what you'd find in a PC, it just costs a hell of a lot more cuz of that freakin' half-bitten apple printed on it....that, and because there are a hell of a lot of people who are fooled by the hype and are actually willing to pay for it <_<

The only good, practical product Apple's ever thrown out is the iPhone. All the rest, Macbooks, iPods, iPad and iMacs are extremely over-priced, unpractical and market hyped fashion statements.

Didn't you know? Steam started supporting OSX too. But I guess that means now we'll see the flaws of OSX in Gaming
But it is quite portable man. it is.

WRONG!!! :p

Actually, there are only SOME hardware left that don't have a driver for an OSX. But when you see a Macbook in real life, that thing is enviously small and portable.

They have the design perfected imo (save for the lack of numpad), the bezel and the screen are at one level causing the dust particles to not accumulate at the insides and the keyboard is better than most laptops (well not new Toshibas).

But yeah, the premium you pay for it being Apple isn't worth it anyway...but did you know that if the router on the same network dies out, you can actually claim warranty for it from APPLE? And they'll replace that router for you using the warranty on your laptop? They also provide accidental warranty for a year, something only Asus does besides them.

So yeah, even me...the most badass Apple hater on the planet is impressed by the design of the Macbook because the design IS actually very good. Sure it's missing many features and many editions.

features like a numpad, swappable stuff, upgradable stuff etc, but yes...the amount of portability you get with it is something you won't be able to achieve even with a netbook.

Editions:
- budget edition
- gaming edition.

let's face it, Macbook needs both of those editions. For people to try the macbook: Budget edition.

Oh...and FOR GOD'S SAKE. BRING THE SECOND CLICK BUTTON ALREADY

for hardcore gamers who want portability, gaming edition: with 2 HDD bays, a kickass GPU and a full keyboard.

But I guess not even Apple can face the challenges of compacting all of that into a sleek, light body with all heating issues undercontrol.

heh. Don't hate on the product, hate on the b*tches who advertise it like it's magical: Aka Apple and Jobs :p

I do realize that mac has stability issues(like all os) but they are so much less in comparision to a windows platform. In windows, you are bound to run into some error or the other overtime, with mac you dont expect that.Quite honestly Iam surprised by the fast nature of mac applications and working. It is much faster then my friend's core i3 desktop which is windows.

About compatibility, there is always something equivalent if not better to the pc apps on a mac.Till now Ive found all the software that I used on a pc on my mac.You do realize that mac apps are available free and cracked just like windows apps on utorrent. They dont even have to go through hectic exe installation.Just download dmg file and you are done.Infact photoshop runs better on a mac then on a pc.

You do realize Iam talking about the build of the laptop.Iam not saying its internal architecture is different from a pc.Iam saying that its sturdy hinges and aluminium casing is really well built and strong, and it really seems it can stand the test of time.Apple scored the best brand award by pc mag in 2009 and 2010(although iam not sure about 2010) due to their reliable products and service, with innovations.

I know about the mac on windows but I tried using it and it just didnt feel right. You dont get the multitouch trackpad along with the rich colourful screen to complement the wonderful os.I just wouldn't feel right using a mac os on a windows, when it was intended for a macbook.Just ruins the whole appeal for me.

I never wanted to play games in the first place.Actually i do,but not on a laptop. At most,I would play sims 3 which is available on mac.And I do play some older games which are available through parallels. You do know that you can run windows on a mac right. That to simultaeneous like a program, not necessary to log off and log in to windows.

I was looking for a laptop which was simple yet powerful.I couldn't have all that windows error and crashing.Iam very illiterate in computers so I didnt understand the command prompt and all the BS errors when you try to run a program and it fails.Mac isnt free of faults, but they are much less in comparision to windows.

I used to be really anti apple and was opposed to their marketing gimmick back in 2006 when all my friends were crazy after an ipod.I did get one ipod shuffle and did think it was over priced. But then I got an iphone and since I have loved it more then any other gadget I own.The softwares, games, features are just spectacular and I started to appreciate apple products. They do provide value for money in the user experience and software and apple products are the most reliable I have ever had.My iphone is about to be 3 years old,and its still running like its new.Same with ipod shuffle. And mac's main advantage is that it doesnt slow down dramatically over the years, like my windows vista sony vaio did.You just have to understand that the macbook is for a different market then pc consumers.Mac is for people who want it simple, who are not involved in hardcore gaming or customizing pcs,and are willing to pay more for well built hardware and simple speedy os.

Iam completely satisfied with my macbook pro, along with the customer service which Iam receiving.

@Svyash

I said that modern laptops aren't as reliable. You wouldn't believe it but my mother's 1999 fujitsu laptop is still running uptil now, except for the battery which has 2 mins backup.Modern laptops like my core2duo vaio and my hp mini 110 got a major fault after 2 years(for vaio) and 6 months(of hp) of use.Otherwise the older toshiba and ibm laptops back in 2005-2006 were extremely reliable and sturdy in terms of hardware.

Someone above said people do not admit mistakes after making them.I admitted I made a mistake when I had bought my hp mini 110.It was the worst pc I ever had and it compelled me into switching to mac.It burnt out after 6 months of use,and the damn hp people wouldnt honour the warranty.

@OP: Since you're computer illiterate, your evaluation doesn't count

secondly, try Virtualbox for running Windows instead of Parallels and TELL ME which is better.

okay, DO NOT FORGET TO TELL ME!

Yeah, all 5 games for Mac that nobody gives a s**t to can be found there :p

IMO those are all minor details and do not justify the extremely high price in anyway. Do a cost-benefit analysis of the router replacement thing: You buy a Macbook for 125k whereas a normal laptop with the same specs would have cost 60k. Now, IF your router fails Apple will buy you a router worth how much? 9k at most I'm assuming. That still leaves them with 55k of swindled money.

Yes, because pressing "Next" 3-4 times is sooo hectic.

Ever heard of Alienware? Clevo? Sager? They'll blow away Mac's "build quality" any day.

The overhead of virtualizing Windows on a Mac would result in a VASTLY inferior gaming experience.

Command prompt? WTF? o_O I can't even remember the last time I had to use that. Windows is absolutely error free 99% of the time for 99% of people. Still get an error? Put the error statement in quotes in Google. 5 minutes later you'll be in business.
