HTC One is Country Locked. What to do?

I am not sure to which carrier it is locked as it is with my friend.
Can you giude me to the general way to unlock it?
Simple just search xda. No need to pay thousands of rupees for unlocking
Why I have to keep saying "it is not a iPhone"
I have unlocked Samsung devices locked to UK carries for $1000 but without the first 1

First, you need to unlock it from your network provider or from any of the 3rd party servcie providers to unlock your HTC one from carrier lock .
