even the dual core uses the same architecture and instruction set of core 2 duo...the only major difference is cache and thats about it for a normal user! selling a properly working dual core under 30 would be madness so i instruct the buyers to search the market and look at what the market prices are before ruining his thread!

My friend has a NC6400... Its a Core Duo (Not C2D).
But this might be different.

That's Intels marketing and nothing else.
for example E6300 comes in two flavours.

They are almost same, but new dual-core flavour is better in performance than old C2D version.

The PASSMARK analysis is as under...

C2D E6300 1.866GHz (65nm technology and core-2 architecture):
it is ranked with mid-renge processors with score of 1099.

While Dual-core E6300 2.8GHz (built on 45nm technology and core-2 architecture)
It is classified with high-end CPU and score is 1853

So, it may be clear that as long as the core-2 architecture is there, C2D and dual-core terminology is just the intel marketing thing and may not signify the "which one is better" issue.
