Hey can anyone help me out please.. I wanted to reduce the action on my guitar
this is the kinda bridge I have

now I tried loosening those nuts in front of each string ( cant tighten them anymore ) but it really doesnt make any real difference to the action .. I also tried moving the other nuts at the back of the string but that only changes its angle slightly :p and the two small black nuts on the sides of each string well i read you use them to make slight adjustments and you use the other bigger nuts to make the bigger adjustments so...

now the action on my guitar is like high just yesterday I was playing on my friends guitar and his was really low and it made it a hell lot easier to play ... so I wanted to reduce mine too ... in comparison to his its a lot higher

so since loosening or tightening the nut in front of each string doesnt really make a difference so what do I do ? Should i move that single nut before the start of the fretboard that is used to I dont know somewhat move the fretboard up and down??

Thanks, :)

As far as I know, the nuts on the bridge are just for the intonation of your guitar. They don't change the action on the guitar. I've been meaning to reduce the action on my guitar as well. For that I consulted a shop and he told me that he would charge 2000 for reducing the action. The action on my guitar is seriously eff'd up as well.

yep mines almost as high as yours...
and i also saw some vids on youtube and I mean according to them loosening the nut should do the trick and the two black nuts on the side alter the intonation or whatever but it doesnt seem to be working here,,,,,,,,

What you got there is a Strat bridge.

I don't see the two nuts on the side of the bridge; maybe it's just me.

You can also try adjusting the saddles; those are the things the strings rest on. Each saddle has these two little hex screws in them. You'll need a very small hex key to move those. I did it on my guitar, and it worked pretty well.

JUST MAKE VERY SURE that you set a contour; as in the height of the saddles goes in a curve matching the curve of the neck. Otherwise you might get a really uncomfortable set-up.

The single nut is the truss rod. You use that to adjust the curve of the neck; and while you might need to do that AFTER you adjust the action, it isn't really recommended as a solution. Besides, moving the truss rod is complicated business.

EDIT:

Read you post again: you already did reduce the little hex screws on each saddle. Are you sure you moved the two big screws on either side of the bridge as well?

after some research I have found out that I have a VINTAGE-type tremolo and not a Floyd Rose one which has two screws... No I havent done anything with the saddle but I guess I'll have to do something now as this really is not an easy setup

I need to get my allen wrench first though :D

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
