So my dad has been wanting to build a home theatre in our basement since a while and finally it has come to being. It started two months back. The pictures aren't that good as they were taken with my Lumia 820 (it doesn't do well in darks). And my sibling who has a 7D isn't at home, so this was all that I had to work with. Everything is hooked up and running great, but the final 'setting' isn't what you see. Some rearrangements still have to be made.

First let me explain what is what. The home theatre itself is an Onkyo HT-S9405THX system. The amplifier (HT-R990) produces 130W RMS per channel and there are seven channels. With this we bought Polk Audio's TSi 500 Floor Standing speakers as they make superb front channel speakers. The rear stands are custom made, including the TV Table (had to track down a guy that did this for us). Our seating consists of 7-seater Recliners which are Italian but made in Singapore. The carpeting had been done from a guy in Pindi. The TV that you see is the first 70" Sony LED 3D TV to be installed in Pakistan. Not only that, it's the latest of the 550A series that come out in April, 2013. The AC is a 1.5 ton of Samsung, does a great job. The entire Basement has a separate UPS for any power interruption.

A few pictures of all what I've been talking about:

I'll be doing close-ups with a proper cam as this just doesn't do it. Me and my dad are really pleased of how it came to be. I've had the pleasure of sitting in many theatres in my life that include AMC, Regal, etc in the USA. Paks cineplex, cinepax, Arena and Cinegold plex, but this out does all of them, hands down.

Forgot to mention that the input sources are a Pioneer Blu player (BDP-150) and a Nayatel HD-box.

Thanks for looking.

Awesome jaw dropping setup bro. Congrats. Its just seating arrangement is more like a drawingroom rather than Home Cinema :p. If possible then try Magenta in the Back wall as it will give the optimum look to already awesomeness. Enjoy Bro. MashaAllah

I mean from what i can see in this picture, we have to rotate our neck to see the screen from side. I can't really give you an idea on how to arrange but at least do it so everyone is easily able to see the screen without any problem.

If i were you, i'd arrange the Sofas in a C like shape.

If i were you , i would've hooked up a high end projector there with seatings towards the screen. The rest is top notch, hope you will and are enjoying. This all has prompted me to post my setup too :D .

The single seater 'Recliners' are 360 degree revolvable.
It hasn't been a problem for anyone in terms of 'viewing angle' even from the fixed three seater.

That's a good question and even though everyone recommend us to do that, but I declined this suggestion. Projectors can only be used if the room is pitch black, or light disturbance would screw the image. Projectors do make a little fan noise. But mostly all projectors hardly have 1000hrs bulb life, after that, its a pain in the ass to get it replaced.

PLUS, a TV's resolution is hell a lot better than any projector, period.

I am looking you do something similar in our pindi home in bahria.

But so far unable to locate any decent audio system. Where in khi u got these. Any reliable dealers. Also waiting for 2013 crop of screens or just might go with a projector. The size cannot be beat.

And I am sure mafiadog recommends them as well

Secondly did u do any sound proofing?

Awesome stuff btw.

You can find pretty much everything at Nashco in Karachi. Sound proofing was done itself as soon as the furniture, carpet, system and recliners came in. Apart from that, the paint on our walls are textured with beads (can't see it in the pics), so that helps sound proofing.
