help with android (which is awesome btw)

guys just got an xperia Arc =D=D=D..... anyways id like to know if there in any shop in isloo that will root my phone for me... plus what are the advantages of rooting my phone!? the main reason i want it done is because there are certain games and apps i cant trasfer to my sd card.... is there any other less evasive workaround? or is there any way i can install the apps DIRECTLY on my SD!? (im a COMPLETE noob when it comes to android)

If that doesn't suit you, then I don't know if there are any shops in Isloo from where you can get it rooted.

EDIT: The guy in the tutorial says that there's no custom ROM for Xperia Arc so I don't think there's any advantage in rooting your phone.

I will follow the tutorial from xda, just like anyone would BUT I won't take any responsibility if, God Forbid, something goes wrong with my phone.

^^^ yes Muaaz let me know the Feel of this Set in ur Hands... Its Rooting is easy... but I am surprised that there are no Custom Roms for it. but really if someone is happy with Stock Rom, Rooting would just allow u to Tune the stock Rom and that is also a Big deal..

No offense, but have you even seen the Arc? It's the sexiest looking smartphone I've seen. And the UI is no slouch either. It only lacks the 3rd party support. Put that aside, it's one hell of a phone to own.

@SiX FoOt: I suggest you don't continue and make a full out of yourself. 3rd party support doesn't mean that Market apps won't work on the Xperia Arc

It means that it has no Custom ROMs. Simple.

Last I checked, Desire Z was your first Android phone and you yourself said that you don't know squat about Android. So I'm gonna be gentle and ignore that post

Actually I was in Love with Arc too.. I had to choose between Incredible S and Arc and I found that better in looks and in some parts.. But Arc has only 320mb internal memory which is less...

the problem is the u cant write A2SD scripts for Arc since there has been No Recovery made for Arc yet so there cant be Flashing of Custom Roms on it..

All u can do is to Root it and tuneup the stock... and incase u get errors u have to connect it to SEUS to reflash stock Rom and root again...

There were the only reason I didnt go for Arc otherwise its absolutely perfect set...

I am totally wrong.. infact there is App2SD script for it but for those with unlocked bootloader.. I couldnt find recovery.. but obviously there wil be since that script can only be flashed via recovery or maybe adb...

I am still surprised that 2 months have passed since that Section for Arc has been created and not even a single Custom flashable Rom is there ....

its just luck.. consider Desire Z was lucky phone ... developers at XDA are very limited... You dont know when they get hands on a handset of their choice...

Arc isnt getting flashable roms coz not much of developers have opted to buy it... but once they get their hands on it,.. u will forget ur Desire Z... I am sorry to disappoint u but Desire Z is not a phone we should be comparing with Arc... Arc is Much better
