Dear PC Helpdesk,
I've got a problem arising with my laptop that I've noticed over the past few weeks. Starting off with my specs:
Dell Inspiron 6400
Intel Celeron @ 1.60 GHz
1GB DDR2 Ram
Windows Vista 32-bit SP2
120GB HDD

The part of the startup sequence when the green bar is scrolling across the screen used to be much quicker, with the green bar going across only 3-4 times. But now it takes over 20 scrolls. And when the login screen finally comes and i login, it takes a further 2-3 mins for me to get to the desktop screen and an additional 4-5 min's for it the PC to be user ready.

I have only my antivirus starting up and I've double checked through 'msconfig'. I've also hit up blackviper's website for configurations on minimizing Vista services and im currently running the 'safe' configuration.
So i dunno what else could be the reason for this slow startup. It used to be ready-for-use from pressing the power button in under 2 mins. Help would be much appreciated. :$

Please find the HiJackThis scan log attached, along with screenshots of the startup programs and services.

Try installing TuneUp Utilities 2011, it'' help you to reduce load times and all that. It also has a registry cleaner as well, click and follow the instruction.

Try some system maintenance utility software. I use Advance system care (free) which keeps my windows going smooth and clean.

You have your personal data on various drives like disk drive b and c etc
when you will install new window then you select previous drive where last window was installed i think might b Local drive C
installing the window would;nt Alloy your Data with Instaling don;tn worry man

Back up all your important data. In fact i advise everyone to actually make dvds of all their important docs and pictures etc. Even if your drive fails ever, atleast your basic important data will be safe. Anyway if you don't want to install new windows then yeah just use utilities like tune up, etc to try and clean your registry and remove other errors from your PC.
