[HELP] Core i5 2500k vs core i5 760

How much faster would a i5 2500k be than a core i5 760.
If both a running at stock and the gpu is gtx 470.(1440 by 900)

Depends on the Game
GPU bound games will give equal FPS while CPU bound games will perform faster on 2500K

If u already have i5 760 there is no need to upgrade
If ur thinking of buying one of these two processor then get i5 2500K

In simple words it's like a 1.3 city vs 1.8 civic

The core i5 2500k is a pretty kick ass processor with great over clocking capability. Runs cooler and consumes less electricity. Can process more data in lesser time then a i5 760.

But I m not really sure about these two are gonna perform in games ( difference in fps )?

Is the performance difference between i5 2500 and i5 760 the same as q6600 and i5 760?

Although the core i5 2500k is fast and energy efficient but 750 is enough for gaming at 1080p with a decent Graphics card...so if you already have a 750,no need for wasting money on i5 2500k.
If you want to buy new then go for third gen not the second because the prices are the almost same.

i saw some good improvements in speed compared to my old i7 920 .....in simple words....i use to run this benchmark from "RealTemp" software and my i7 920 was running 12 sec and my i5 2500K is running 10 sec ....and both were at stock frequencies, im very well satisfied with my 2500K Alhumdulillah

fahd , since your upgrading from a Q6600. I would recommend you get the i5 2500k * best buy * and a medium ranged motherboard for your self. Would be the perfect buy for your self.

In Simple.....If You Already Have Quad Core i5 Gen ...Then I Really Feel No Need Of Upgrade...I Own i5-750 And Still There's No Reason I See To Upgrade It For 3rd Gen i5 I.B...!!

If You Are Upgrading From Quad Core Then Why Not go For 3rd Gen ....!! If You Already Have i5 Then There's No Need To Upgrade For Sake Of Lil Difference But Paying Massive Price (Depreciation + Cost Of New Processor)

I Find i5's Almost Just Bit Better To Each Other But Somehow They All Are Capable To Be Overclocked Safely Where You Hardly Feel Diff B/w Them

Its no use to upgrade as the i5 760 also overclocks very well and there is no game that this baby cant handle..
no need to upgrade write now.
and as far as the FPS is concerned..
u might have seen [MENTION=1519]Voodoo[/MENTION] comparision...with the G620...
its hardly a 10% increase with the processor.
there is much of a difference that u will see with this processor....so keep it while u still can...!!!

If There's A Half Price Diff....Go For It Simply.....!!! There's Not So Much Diff .....!! Just Choose The Right MB With Independent SATA III Support And USB 3.0.....!!!

Well For Being More Future Proof.......Its Somehow Better if Your Mb Support 3.0 USB And Sata III.....Else You Are Just Fine With Sata II And USB 2.0
USB 3.0 Comes Extremely Handy For External HDD Users .....SATA III Is For People Who Want To Use SSD.....!! Newer SSD's Are Sata III (Compatiable With 2.0 Also) Having Speed upto 500mbps!!
