Sure, while that wasn't really my intention when I posted here, but I don't have an issue with making you one of these. Thor is already thinking about it.

Great! Two things you need to research about:

1) Casing. Most of the cost and time will be spent on this. What sort of case do you want? And so you want the PSU to be separate or everything in one enclosure. The former is recommended by AMB.

2) Is the wiring in your house earthed?

FWIW I can build other amps too, if anyone is more interested in the 'low-end'.

Best option for earphones (in ear preferred) within a max of PKR 3000.

Primary use: Movies and music.

Should be comfortable, in ear only (light weight headphones acceptable too. I previously had the Bose AE but it's completely worn out now so not usable anymore. No longer in my budget.)

I'm really pissed off today.

I always use small headphones to watch shows on laptop and tablet. I started from regular Chinese earphones to JVC (twice) and finally bought Sennheiser OMX185 for 4500. I bought these because with all the headphones and earphones I bought, they would eventually stop delivering sound from one of the earpiece (except for G930 as it is wireless) and I had to twist the wire continuously with to get sound from both. Now same thing is happening with Sennheiser earphones and I can't really afford to buy another one now.
Have u tried repairing it? most of the times when u frequently use the headphone volume control, this Shit happens, i once repaired my hs 800 and later on TApped the volume control to increase its life.

In addition to that I'm looking for earphones in the $100 price range. So far I have two models in mind
  • Sony XBA 2
  • Monster Turbine High Performance
These are both for $75.

Can someone tell me how good are these headphones?
http://www.pakgamers.com/forums/f136/jvc-premium-quality-high-end-87674/

For listening to music on an iPhone 5.
I bought sennhieser 300-ii precision on your advice. They are really good. As the last time I used jvc micro hd; the bass was almost non existence. Those were FXC 80 so you might be in luck. However please do share your experience especially if you went for Sony.

So I'm stuck between deciding these three headphones. I need some good all rounder (gaming, music(mostly metal) and movies)

Sennheiser 518
Audio Technica AD700
Creative Aurvana Live

Would love input on any of these, especially from people who own/have used them. Also I will use a shitty realtek soundcard. I only have a laptop and I might get a headphone amp someday.

creative aurvana live would be best in these being an allrounder... it has the most bass and musicality... ad700 would be best for gaming in these... sennheiser 518 is also good with slightly laid back sound(won't be awesome for metal but won't be bad either)... check out thorough reviews on the internet regarding these e.g head-fi.org... and make up your own mind...

Yeah I've read reviews on these, heck I've had these three headphones in my mind months ago. Its still a hard decision :-s

How good are CALs or sennheiser hd518 for gaming ? Is the sound stage decent enough ? Obviously they cant compete with ad700 in that regard, I know. For those who have actually used them.

ad700 has low bass and a little sterile... they would be better for music which has vocals and such as it has good mids and highs but a wonderful soundstage... other than soundstage there is nothing to write home about... hd518 would have balanced mids/highs/treble and the sound signature would be laid back and slightly non exciting... cals have great treble and bass which equates to an exciting and enjoyable sound signature... they have a better soundstage than the m50s with better bass aswell... it is good for gaming but not as good as ad700...

if you can import stuff then do look at ultrasone hfi580 or m-audio q40

Those two headphones were quite out of my budget. M-audio would have costed me around 180$ through ebay and I doubt they would sound great un-amped.

I ordered the ad700. I'll get a grado sr60i in the future for my ultimate heavy/metal listening. Or is there anything better in that price point ?

I'm thinking of ordering IEMs for my iPhone 5 from Jshak. Budget is Rs. 15,000 but due to his rates I think I'll be able to spend 12-13k only. Need some suggestions. I dont wan't anything too analytical. Need something that provides a good balance of bass and other frequencies. Some that I've heard good things about are:
  • Shure SE 215
  • Monster Turbine High Performance
  • Klipsch Image X10

I have the Monster Turbine Copper Pro's....they're freaking amazing! New ones are a bit expensive, but you might be able to find a refurbished pair on ebay that are sold directly from Monster themselves for about 150. The packaging and accessories are all the same if you buy new, and they have the same warranty too.
