Any thing Spielberg producing these days is shit , apart from him directing that thing himself .
but let's keep fingers crossed :wink2:

if its half as good as FoD with bigger budget then i m sure its going to be great :)
well the movie or webisodes were about 85 minutes which equates to 2 episodes and that took about 5-10 million dollars to make but half of the budget was spent on the vehicle that they made in the end... so i think that a similar budget would be pretty good... i think that someone like netflix would be good to partner with on this as they are trying to make a name for themselves as an online hbo and they made house of cards for a 100 million dollars for 13 episodes only(damn)...

what u saw in FoD is barely scratching the surface...halo lore is HUGE. its not halo if there aren't any epic space segments, planetary scale battles and alien worlds(specially the forerunners). a properly realized halo movie can easily dwarf the biggest sci-fi block busters. i know this is not a movie but even for a TV series, its got big expectation to fulfill.

IMO the best representation of halo universe in a Live-Action scenario is this,
the series should at least deliver battles like these once every episode. more is better

i realize how large the lore is with all those books and games.... i never played them but i did read the story(summary you could say) and i really loved how it could be epic for a tv series as the lore is long and has some epic action built in... by implying the forward unto dawn i merely meant that the quality of the show would be great if they kept it exactly like that and do not degrade it(i don't expect better but i don't want any less)... the same quality with all the story would be great if it can give us a 5 season series atleast(hell... stretch it to 10 seasons like sg1 and i would love that more)... but i hope they do it on netflix which releases everything at the same time=awesomeness... basically me want big booming and magnificently epic space battles... solar systems destroyed... black holes and time distortion fields and so much jazz to make my head spin with the fantastical science... i am a huuugggeee sci fi series fan(excluding star trek)... i adore stargate series(stargate universe had the greatest fantasy of all but sadly the low quality drama took the life out of it in the first season but the second was magnificent and the best season of any sci fi series ever)... battlestar and babylon5/andromeda/firefly/farscape etc.... love my space battles....

FoD while having exceptional Cinematography and character development, was very restrictive. for a halo fan it was almost suffocating. this series should not follow the later! this is why i said a bigger budget is a must.

i am not a supporter of endless seasons as 99% of those who do that loss their standards/identities. it will break my soul if something like that would happen to halo.

btw i m also a startrek fan but not like those touchy nerds :p

i like long run times... the character development goes from good to epic.... like for me game of thrones is way too short and the story should take twice the time that they took... i agree that the film had nothing much and the budget was small but in a series it would be like that as the story needs a lot of character development rather than just action... that is also why SERIES are SUPERIOR than MOVIES... plenty to time to satisfy everything... star trek was too episodic for me and i didn't like it much and never will but the movies are good...

i also like 50mins lengthy episodes...its the endless supply of seasons that bore me. imo there should be at least be some major plot development in every episode and season finale should feel like a FINALE. i miss the old days when this was true. now-a-days its common practise to make 0 zero progress over the course of several episode followed by a ridiculous cliffhanger finale. this practice should be avoided at all cost in this case!

yeah i hate cliffhangers at the end of a season... just finish it proper and i hate episodic stuff which star trek had a lot and also star gate... one continuous story like battlestar galacticca... and also the best thing about it is that there is a plot for every episode but it is for moving the story along but not a filler episode which series like LOST resort to... and i like a lot of season until it becomes a drag and repetitive like 24 etc... 5 seasons ought to do it i want a complete story... all the story that the books had and the games

This news was TRULY MIND BLOWING during the conference.
I was HAPPY and EXCITED beyond belief.

Having a Halo T.V series is like a dream come true. Halo: Forward Unto Dawn was truly amazing for me, simply loved it. And if this is even half as good as it was, then I'm happy :)

My only real fear is that they don't mess it up but since this is HALO, life line of Microsoft, I'm pretty sure they will be extra careful not to mess it up.

DAMN!!!
This was Amazing. Goosebumps overload.
I loved Halo:Reach, was an awesome game.
Will be awesome if they deliver stuff like this in every episode but I don't think the budget will allow it.

I agree. I hate it when a really good series gets dragged on to oblivion, a very common case especially nowadays. The best series in my opinion would be that which completes its story in the right amount of episodes and seasons without adding filler content or dragging it too long.

many series are now following the "spartacus" formula... twists and turn and drama and emotion in ever episode but action is there as well(nudity too if that is the kind of series being made)... basically a complete package... so a good normal episode should have a great build up and an epic fight scene, be it on the ground or space, while all the time supplementing the full story rather than being a story within a story for one episode only...

Yeah, agreed. Even if each episode doesn't have an epic fight scene or epic action scene etc, they should make it in such a way that that absence is not felt.
For e.g, Walking dead season 1 last episode. I don't know why but I friggin loved that episode, aside from the last blast, the whole episode is just basically talk and talk and talk and no zombies etc. Repeated viewings have increased my love for it.

I'm just super happy because I'm a HUGE HUGE FAN OF HALO (even though I don't own an xbox 360) :D
