yaar u see it depend on the person in which condition he feels more suitable... and when it comes to increase the weight lifting one should see that how much reps he getting... if hes getting 12-15 reps on a particular weight then thats the time to increase the weight... while for the beginner its all ways recommended to start with light weight.. :)<br><br>Light weight...=More reps = Cutting NOT MASS(SIZE) <br>More Weight,,,Max 10 reps =  Size

add so much weight that u can do 5 with some effort (sm1)

sorry to say this, but 5-8 reps wont get u anywhere. the minimum should be 12. go for 15 per reps if u can. after that its just endurance training.

wudnt it be good if u guys also shared your training routines ? ill start with mine.

Monday - Chest (dumbell fly, inclined press, butterfly,bench press, declined press,cable crossover).
Tuesday - Wings ( pullovers, t-bars, bentover rows etc etc)
Wednesday - Shoulders (dumbell side raise, uptight row, military press etc etc)
Thursday - Bis/tris (Standing barbell curls, dumbells raise, preacher,dumbell concentration curls,lying barbell curls)
Friday- Thighs (lots of squats :p )

repeat after a one day gap.

guys i took too much time to write my schedule. plz write yours also :p Also at what time are u guys doing workout during ramzan . im doing it at 5-6:30 :( cant do it after aftari coz of taraweeh.

will try to share my pic too (clothed ofcourse) :D

least reps should be 10.... 12 is ideal... while when u get 15 reps one should go for more weight...

well i go gym at 11pm at night and come back on 12... :D my workout is almost same as normal days but i have reduced the sets and weight that i used to lift in normal days... :)

medically i read somewhere 8 reps are ideal , but they should be with the full weight you can lift

i do 8 -10 max not more for gaining mass

i focus alot on core n lower body , cuz i play basketball , i work my upper body a bit n im happy with it

I'm not a big guy.I'd like to put on some mass,any tips ?

Workout for 5 days a week and have 2 days off in a week.
In those five days push yourself to the limit.
carry on this routine for 2 months, then give a break of about 10 days, but make sure to carry on with abdominal exercises during these 10 days because you gonna gain weight and abdominal area is the one area you don't want any mass, then start again.

Trust me giving your body rest after a good two months work out is the best way to gain some mass.

if you are new to weight lifting in the first 3 months you will transform your self after that the 3 months there will be hardly any diffrence do weight lifting for 3 months then rest a month then again if you want quick results eat like a cow eggs meat eat clean and healthy

...talk about eating..i dont eat alot because i dont feel hungry most of the time. currently am 5'6 tall with 55kg weight.My age is almost 21 years

^^ firstly if u want to gain mass u have to eat like animals... believe me looking ur picture just remembered my friend... brother u have to work very hard in the gym.. lift good of weight... if u arent a beginner... eat potatoes fried one boiled or any... eat eggs.. and eat banana shake.. i personally hate banana and i never had it.. but it generally give good result :)

^^ actually u are correct.. i am working these days on arms and shoulders just bcoz of it... my stomach is coming out.. :( worried about it cant help it... but i will cover it InshaALLAH

some one commented bout eating ,, thats good advice for gaining mass

no mattr how much u exercise , if u dont eat and sleep good

it will all go to waste

eat 5 times a day
1kg=1gram protein if ur 50 kg then eat about 50 grams proteins a day to maintain ur muscle , eating healthy is must
