Assalam-O-Alikum everyone.

Well yesterday i bought a ASUS GTX 1050 vanilla one from Czone. And out of the gate its giving me high idle temps and even higher load temps.

Its been giving me around 40c idle on AC chilled room with Gigaibyte G2-GZ case which is well ventilated and alot of exhausts are installed. I tried a bit of playing Far Cry 5 and the temps were up 80C. I had a GTX 660 prior which used to give me around 32C idle and 62C load. Should i RMA the card ?

They should help you if its faulty out of box, responsibility shouldn't be thrown on you.

1. The Card uses idle fans during idle fans. Meaning, they don't get turned on until you reach specific temp. (50 or something)
2. Try upping the FAN Speed using MSI Afterburner or similar program.

Tell us the exact card model (what brand and what series) and also your exact fan configuration in your case. If it's not an airflow related issue, try going for custom fan curves like GloriousChicken recommended.

Even at 50% Fan speed using MSI Afterburner. Load temps are about 70c which way too high. I've asked czone stuff about it and they asked me to RMA it if it keeps happening.

Well card model is ASUS PH-GTX1050-2G. And about fan config in my case. I got 2x 120mm fans upfront. 1x 120mm on the side and 1 80mm fan in the rear.

Tried using MSI afterburner at 50% fan speed. Still load temps are about 70ish.

50%?
There's your problem.
Crank that upto 75% :D

Although, I can't understand % because all fans have different speed so if anything, RPM should be what you need to tell me.
Eitherway, You got it.

Just set it up to 80-90% when you're gaming.
Take out 2 years with it, RMA last remaining 2 months if some issue occurs.

Actually brother i did set it to 80% and still temps were high. Anyhow is 78c load dangerous for this card ?

I'm terribly sorry for late replies.

However, 78c is more or less in the yellow zone. Green should be below 65c to 70c in Pakistan.

So you're not in any danger.
BUT,
Your tempreature also depends on how the card is being used, if you're playing an highly unoptimized or extremely heavy game, it can mean the GPU is being used too extensively which can further crank up the Tempreature at higher fan speed.

What uses the GPU Extensively?
Resolution higher than 1080p or 1440p. (The higher it is the more it works itself)
Extremely heavy games with supersampling and what not. (Same resolution effect)
Unoptimized titles. (You can figure out why)

Can you mention the games you're running and at what settings.
And also, take your side panel off for comparison.

Hoping for the best.
