I will tell you the reason GT is so awesome. It's simple

Yamauchi-san has true love and passion for cars and he makes video games. You guys should see his work place. This guy lives and breaths cars and video games. Can anyone show me a similar guy to Yamauchi for all other racing sims?

Haha I knew I said the incantation right and successfully summoned you :D
But tell me, would you miss out on GT6 this December? Or GT7?

And I know what you mean. I've tried rFactor and even the original was on another level. To be honest I didn't wanna spend on rfactor2, that's plain ugly and I'm a bad person but I would've played if there was some free version or something.

The comparisons I primarily made were with Forza 3 and Forza 4.
You know I wouldn't miss out on ANY racing simulator. Simulator being the key word.
Sadly, I won't be getting to play GT6 since the ps3 is now with my brother who lives half way across the globe.

Will probably get PS4 for GT7. Will also purchase Asseto Corsa, pCars and others but right now rFactor 2 is rocking my socks.
Agreed that it doesn't have the best graphics but that don't matter since it has many other things to offer and is continually improving.

And please do not even talk about Forza. I don't think they even focus on the physics portion of the game anymore. They just want to put out something that looks beautiful and pleases the masses.

P.S I remember reading in some other thread that the xbox gamepad provides amazing immersion in racing games. Are they kidding me? All those people that build entire cockpits with expensive steering wheels and pedals must be complete morons. Should just get a gamepad :p

That was just Journeys End
Someday I'll make him play GT5 or some other PC sim with my G25.

I hope there's a save import option for GT6. I got like 10million credits lying around :p

So just because he has true love and passion, his game should be awesome? Have you played GT5 and other sims? Have you tried the hexatech simulators?

One misfire(GT 5) doesn't render his whole career meaningless. Lets see what happens with GT 6 before we start jumping to conclusions.

I have also played GT3 and GT4. The PC simulators in those days too were far ahead of console racing simulators.
I'm more interested in the simulation/physics of the game rather than the graphics.

That's what bothers me. He restricts himself to consoles.
Simulators need a lot of processing muscle. Only if Yamauchi directs a game which is PC exclusive. I mean it's a niche crowd that doesn't mind spending a chunk load of money even on a single game. They'd spend money on a beefy PC if they have to.

The world disagrees with you then. GT is extremely popular in the whole world for a reason. I respect that it is your opinion so i guess there is no need to add anything more to this conversation.

Hahahah. You sound just like Journeys End when he was defending Forza.

And I'll give you the same message I gave to him, you need to work on your definition of "the world" :p

And what reason is that?
Hardcore racing enthusiasts like you and Shyber might look at the full picture but for most of the others, games like GT and Forza can just work. Although, GT is admittedly the more popular one :p

If they target the hardcore market, they might limit their sales potential.

We can agree that Gran Turismo and Forza are good games but they are NOT racing/driving simulators.
And gamepads do NOT provide true immersion in a racing game.

Dude, Hammad's definition of simulators is way WAAAAAY tighter than mine. And I wouldn't argue with a guy who's level 40 on GT5 :p
(I gave up in the races where GT5 started to become mildly amusing for him)

And Hammad, dude you're crazy :p
(Meant that as a compliment).

I only reached level 40+ because I had to play it forcefully since I bought a frikking ps3 just because of this game :p
And thank you for the compliment :D

Btw, if I had the money, I'd love to race in real life. Circuit racing, not street racing. Perhaps some day.

P.S. I just love driving/racing. My knowledge regarding the technical aspects of cars and everything related to them is horrible.

Oh wow so another hardcore sim fan came and you immediately backed off. But in other thread you were hell bent on proving GT5 and Yamuchi guy is the second coming of Jesus hehe

I can spot when a person is smarter/better than me and I shut up.
Still, his and mine point are consistent when it comes to Forza vs GT, which is what you're quoting here.

I think he is pretty consistent with what he is saying. He is of the view that both these games are not for the real racing fans, forza being a little more casual.

Quite a lot more casual if I'm honest.
But between GT and forza, GT is much better.

Here's a video: GT5 vs Forza 3 vs GTR 2 vs rFactor - YouTube

The general consensus is that the pc sims are for the hardcore people. Among the console "sims", GT is the better of them all.

Just the force feedback in rFactor 2 is insane and it has so much more to offer.

I guess I don't need to reply after Hammad's post. And, I'll just post what I initially quoted:

I'll quench your little thirst. PC has the best racing SIMs. Ok? Now shoo.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
