Yes tags do work and the person tagged gets a notification too. ( i didnt know it for years how to tag and it was as simple as name )
I personally think the biggest thing that kills any electronics hardware is heat. The only pc hardware that failed on me was a GPU 4870 after that i have been experimenting and cooling my PC and have zero deaths. Not even an LED failed on me after that.
You need a good airflow in case, people mostly look for GPU and CPU temp only and with good coolers you can get lower temps on those but if u have poor airflow in case although your main temps will be satisfying but the heat transfers slowly across the whole PCBs ( your mobo PCB and gpu PCB etc .. ) and eventually lead to a death which makes you think what u did wrong.
Our summers are really hot and some of us have our PC's in a cupboard like compartment in a CPU desk, thats really bad for hardware. We mostly follow European forums and this issue is less over there because of their low ambient temps. Also their low ambient leads to low max temps which bothered me alot when i was new to all this stuff because i was ignoring the ambient temps at that time.
I think the things that keep my hardware fit are quality PSU and low temps and thats it.
BTW i did accidentally dropped a bolt on a running GPU once that lead to immediate no display. But as soon as i restarted the PC it worked fine. Buy new GPUs if you can because there is no way to fully test a GPU if its fine.
