R9 280X 3GB Twin Frozr Edition.
All of a sudden it lost display. I was cleaning it with a brush. So I took it to repair guy and he used heating gun on a board and changed the thermal paste but no luck. Wanna take it to professional and have it fixed.

There is no proper way to repair GPUs.

At most, you'll be able to get it run for a few hour.
Then it'll go back to being dead.


If you've lost display, then
Have you tried removing the GPU Drivers and then see what color your screen is?
If it has artifacts such as blue/purple screen lines, pixelated colors, improper screen propotion, then your GPU Is beyond help.


Alternatively, If you dont get those.
You should try using a different cable, such as DVI.


Eitherway,
I believe it is a goner and time to look for a new one.

What kind of a brush? It is not good idea to clean your GPU with a brush as it can contain static electricity. Plus you have to be really careful. Could've used a blower or something instead

I don't know any person and there is no use of repairing it either. It will only work temporary maybe just few hours. I can tell you a method I have read online which few of a people tried to their success. Try it at your own risk and use it as a very last resort

Bro IMHO just like FUEL2009 dont waste money on this GPU. If something is faulty and even if someone good enough to diagnose it, still you will have really hard time finding the replacement part. Also that heat repair is plain BS and temporary even if it would have worked. I have visited so soo many repair shops in rwp ( not GPU specific ) all have heat gun, not for SMD components but for heating the PCBs and mobos just k shyd chal jai kuch.
Idr repair waly 95% hit and try method use krty hain instead of proper troubleshooting steps. ( acha ye try kr lety hain ya ye ya ye )
Idr technician b mostly hit and try hi use krty hain. Ap k fridge ka compressor farig hai and i just replaced a 100Rs capacitor and got it working fine.
idr mechanic khty hain that hmary hth feeler gauge hain and we can adjust 0.05mm clearance with hands ( which is of-course BS ).

May be i am getting a bit too negative but idr waqai "anni" machi v hai.

All the above story to please avoid repairs as much as you can unless you are 100% sure about the person who will be repairing.

Yes, everybody's saying that not to pull this off more. I think I'm gonna need a new GPU. But this happened to me for like 5-6 times. Sub GPU is taraah hee kharab huay hain. [MENTION=9503]mave3[/MENTION] do tags really work here?
