Good quality USB to micro USB cables for phone charging?

AoA.

So, I have bought USB to micro USB cables from 3 separate shops (Gul Haji), and all of them are of very poor quality.

The few original cables I have lying around, allow my phone (Galaxy S3) to draw 1 ampere, while these el cheapo cables only allow current upto 400 mA. Have you faced the same issue using these cheap (100 rupees) cables?

So, if you guys have any recommendations on where to get good quality (preferably 24/28 AWG) charging cables, let me know. If I can't find any locally, I might just order some from Amazon or something.

I would, but I can't really justify buying a charger just for the cable that comes along with it. Especially when I need like 5 cables...

It's an absolute pain trying to find good quality cables. I test the cables at the time I buy them, so can be sure they go up to 1900mah when charging idle and 1200mah whilst using it. I have found some good quality cables here that have lasted me for quite some time, and are still working top notch.

Though it's not just the cables it depends on the charger as well, but once you have a good tested charger, then you can go on testing cables.

That's a good idea, testing the cables before buying. Unfortunately it'd be a PITA wading through all the bad cables...

1900mA?? I assume you were charging a tablet or a larger phone?

Instead of going that route and wasting all that time, I was thinking of ordering 10 of these and be done with it.

No I just check one kind of cable and if that works good, I take a few of the same kind. Not going to check every single cable :p. Those look nice and monoprice is good but getting them here would be a pain too, and they don't look particularly handy with the ferrite core at the end.

Checked it on a S4. Most latest phones need 2A to charge, which shows up as 1900mA.

If you want I'll send you one of the cables I use, got a spare one brand new, for when somebody needs it.

Haha, I get it ^_^

Yeah, they seem pretty unwieldy with that lump near the end...

Ah! Didn't know that S4 and above needed 2A.

That would be really nice, if you could. But I don't want to inconvenience you with shipping it and stuff...

If you could send me a few pictures of them, that'd help when I'm looking for similar ones to buy.

Here's one I bought (that doesn't work well):

Well the cable you showed is not good, it wears out too quick; becomes loose and is a 1A cable.

Heres the one I use.

Computer USB2.0 ports dont give more than 500mA.

Wow... are you sure those figures are right??? I mean, a USB 2.0 port can only output 500mA, and a 3.0 port outputs 900mA, so 2.4-3A from a laptop's USB port seems unrealistic, no? Did you perhaps mean .24-.3A?

Yeah! That's what I thought when the shopkeeper handed me that wire... it just felt very flimsy.

Thank you for the picture of your cable! That'll help when I'm looking around for more cables. It definitely looks to be of higher quality than mine.

No , it gives 2 to 3A mostly , it has an extra 3.0 port for charging devices

A USB 3.0 charging port (also referred to as a USB powered port) allows you to charge connected USB devices. Standard USB ports will not charge all USB devices or will charge using a low current. Some USB devices require power and require you to use a powered port.

Thanks for pointing out a specific location! Just what I needed! I'll be heading to Bilour plaza to check out those shops then.

how do you measure the current? Any app?
I use "Battery Monitor". You can find plenty of apps that measure charging current, by searching for "charging current" in the Google Play Store.

I found some kick ass Lenovo cables from market @ 150 each. Really good stuff!
Haha, that's great. Hope you stocked up on them, because I doubt good quality cables like those come around often. Which specific market did you purchase them from?

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
