Having a go at this one but i am confused by all the movies and tv-series. i was wondering if you guys could tell me which order i should watch the movies and the tv-series.
Googled for the answer but everybody was saying something different :mushy:

Stand Alone Complex is set in an alternate timeline, so you might as well watch the GitS movies first and then move on to the series.

As mentioned the original movies (Not based on "Stand alone Complex" series) are different from the series. I'd go for the movies first then series later, as some characters only appear in the series only.

No offense to you, but only watch GITS if you understand the mysticisim ethos. As that is what this anime is all about - I am talking about the two movies - actually. The two movies are nothing but a giant metaphor of the buddism/islamic/hindu mysticism. If that doesn't appeal to you, then don't watch it at all, because a HUGE, and I mean HUGE understanding of these are required to appriciate it.

^true...the show and movies require you to have an encyclopedia open as the authors/books/quotes are all tied to certain ideologies/mythologies, and few may have difficulties understanding them.

^ Lol if I hadn't studied mysticism, the concept of GITS would have been a farcry for my head. I think he should pick up a good mysticism book, which covers and links all the mystic knowladge together.
