okay then dont watch them :) ... read books they will be much better ... honestly speaking i really hated the slow pace of last 5 seasons ... only last season was somewhat decent ...
Most of the epic shows like breaking bad, prison break and such are really slow and mostly story. That's how tv shows work.
I will watch GoT till the end, but considering that the author hasn't even finished the books means last two seasons will miss most of the story part. Just my thoughts...

Thanks to sites like IMDb and RT we no longer have to argue over the mass-appeal and critical reviews of shows.

Game of Thrones is the highest rated season-based show in the history of television. Baat khatam.

Yeah i heard that but still... Lets hope that "winter is really as scary as they've been talkin about. Its almost here and they are chilling in their castles.

Man get your priorities right, stock up on candles and food first, and then choose a king in the North.
Their priorities are messed up.

[h=1]Game of Thrones May Be Planning Super-Sized Episodes For Season 8[/h]

Game of Thrones’ final season may have a reduced episode count, but those episodes might be getting super-sized.
As anticipation builds for the July 16th premiere of the penultimate seventh season of HBO’s epic, bloody fantasy drama, cast and crew took part in the first Game of Thrones fan convention, Con of Thrones, over the weekend in Nashville.
The convention was more of a celebration of the show than any sort of platform for new information, but per a report from Deadline, sound designer Paula Fairfield offered up a small, intriguing morsel about the show’s format in its eighth and final season. Fairfeld suggested that while the seventh season’s seven episodes will be the standard hour length (with the exception of the season finale, said to be 82 minutes long), season eight may see the show go out with an entire season of film length installments. While noting that production on the final season is yet to begin and things could change, Fairfeld suggested it’s likely that each of the six episodes in the final season could clock in around 80 minutes.

Expanded episodes sounds like an obvious reason to rejoice for fans of the show, but they can be something of a double-edged sword. Shows like Sherlock and Black Mirror have regularly utilized feature length episodes to great effect, but those shows tend to tell more self-contained stories than the sprawling, highly serialized Game of Thrones. There is a recent history of high-profile, prestige dramas using extended run times as they approach their conclusions; some of them have been used to great effect (Mad Men, Justified) while others ended up using it as a lazy crutch that ended up adding nothing to the end product, a problem exemplified by Sons of Anarchy’s seemingly endless final season.
With all that in mind, this is probably a sound strategy for Game of Thrones. There is seemingly still a tremendous amount of story to tell in the remaining 13 installments in Westeros. Expanding the final run in both time and scale is a sensible compromise for those worried that the show might not have left enough time to finish its story, or for fans simply disappointed that the series is so close to the finish line. Game of Thrones has been HBO’s crown jewel for six years, so it’s only fitting that they let it wrap up with a length and import equal of any Hollywood blockbuster.
Game of Thrones’ seventh season premieres July 16th on HBO.

Anyone got idea about what lord baelish wants? i have something in my mind but it can be wrong
He told Sansa very clearly what he wants. He wants the Iron Throne, with her as his queen.
I've a feeling he won't survive this season.

Very good opening episode. Arya badass. Jon and Sansa discussing their issues was good to see. The best thing about this episode though was The Hound. His character's progression has been excellent. Loved all his scenes.

Enjoyed the first episode. Was great. Plus it was made even better by going directly into it from Season 6's last two amazing episodes (Season 6 rewatch).

At first, I thought the first scene was a flashback of the Red Wedding or something, but then it dawned on me. XD

Cannot wait for next week.

Beric Dondarrion is his name. He was first shown back in Season 3 I believe where the Hound sliced him up but he came back. The show hasn't given us much about him. His main thing is the obvious connection to the lord of light. I'm guessing that connection would play a bigger role in the wars to come against the white walkers. Fire vs Ice.

Hell, some are even saying he is Azor Ahai (I still think it is Jon).

[h=1]How They Did Game of Thrones’ Most Disgusting Scene[/h]

–
Actor John Bradley, who plays Samwell Tarly in the series, breaks down how they filmed that disgusting Citadel montage on Game of Thrones. The highly anticipated seventh season of the HBO fantasy/drama finally premiered Sunday with ‘Dragonstone’ and with it came the show’s largest debut to date – with a whopping 16.1 million viewers across all of HBO’s platforms tuning in to watch Dany (Emilia Clarke) step foot in Westeros, Ayra (Maisie Williams) take her sweet revenge and Queen Cersei (Lena Headey) plot to keep control over her fragile rule.
Of course the episode featured other characters as well, most notably Sam Tarly, who found himself in a stomach-turning situation at the Citadel in Oldtown. As it turns out, Sam’s dream job isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Instead of spending his days researching how to stop the White Walker invasion, Sam is cleaning out bedpans in the infirmary, which the Citadel also uses to cook their stew (that looks a lot like what Sam’s cleaning out of the bedpans). It’s a hilarious, yet nauseating break from the drama of Westeros that has garnered quite a lot of positive and negative attention from fans – and has been hailed as one of the most disgusting scenes in Thrones yet.
In a new interview with THR, Bradley breaks down how they shot the gross scene (he missed the Emmys for it), what the mysterious brown goop in the pans is actually made out of and why the scene is important moving forward with Sam’s story. Here is what Bradley said about shooting the scene:
“It was quite a long time shooting it. It was shot over a period of about five full days. We’re talking about 50 or 60 hours of shooting all of that. It was quite an experience, really. For the first time in my career on the show, I was completely alone. It was weird to be working so closely with the director and shooting that sequence in these five second bursts. It was kind of strange, just making sure you got those tiny little microscopic five second moments in the can, and then hand it over to the editors to stitch it into the montage that it became. I had no vision of what it might look like, no expectations of what it might look like. When I saw it at the screening [in Los Angeles], that was the first time I had seen it. It was kind of extraordinary, the fact that they could take these tiny fragments and build it into a narrative.”

Even though Thrones is a pretty intense show to shoot (it’s put its actors through blizzards and eating fake horse hearts), the series didn’t go as far as using actual human remains while shooting the Citadel scene. Here is what the gunk in the pans is actually made out of:
“We didn’t use real human waste. It was one step down on the unpleasantness scale. We used wet fruit cake, for all of the… I don’t know you say it politely. (Laughs.) That was wet fruit cake. It smelled fine, but shooting under lights for 13 hours or so, it can get a little nasty. I was reminded last night that while I was shooting that scene, everybody else on the cast was at the Emmys [in 2016].”

Of course, not everyone loved the scene. In fact, it had quite a lot of criticism for being a waste of time considering there are only twelve episodes left in the series, but Bradley has a different view on the scene. Here is what he said:
“He knows that his time is being wasted. That frustration, to see that so instantly in the season and see that he is frustrated and that he’s been sent there to do a job he’s not allowed to do? That’s important. It’s a great moment of character development that’s disguised in a bit of fun. It’s not a waste of screen time. It’s important to establish how Sam feels in the opening episode and moving forward regarding the Citadel.”
