Pretty huge cutbacks in performance mode on Series X.

On one hand, they're pretty notable. On the other, you'll hardly be able to see any of it while driving. The lower LoD is the only issue that may be easy to spot in Performance mode.

3070 is comfortably above 60fps at 4K, Ultra preset. ~70-90fps. Bodes well for ultrawide resolutions.

My laptop will murder my series S in this one it looks like. Unfortunately I was planning to and even preloaded it on my series S. Oh well.

Gonna have to wait for Alex's in depth analysis first to see what are the PC equivalent settings in Quality mode. "Extreme" preset has always been applicable to a few settings in FH, not every available setting in the menu.

A 30-series laptop can handle console equivalent settings here easily.

PC version is series X quality mode on indefinite FPS I just played first 40 mins of it on series X performance mode and I would say it looks better than FH4 but not another level great maybe that's where quality mode comes in. The cars feel responsive as ever so there's that to enjoy and I can't wait to get my hands on a convertible.

I didn't get the Lamborghini for playing FH3 I played it exclusively on PC but it was the same account I don't know what's up with that got the Sienna though.

I do believe that full ray tracing for capable PC graphs card should've been in the cards as well not just for photo or Forza vista to really take it to another level of photorealism. I am happy with what a 500$ machine is able to give us and I can happily spend a 500$ more on a pro version 2-3 years down the line for quality mode @60 FPS no matter which platform you have series X,S or PC just enjoy the game and upgrade whenever you can

Yeahhhh nope. The laptop version of the 3060 (unless it's the 3060 TI, maybe) ain't outperforming a Series X in a rasterization-only scenario. Itna bhi ooncha na urdo 🤣
LMAO @ "unless it's the 3060 TI, maybe"

A desktop 2070 Super can do 4K 30-40fps at Extreme settings. Laptop 3060 is comparable to that 🤷‍♂️

The PS5 gpu is comparable to a 2070S in rasterization-only performance (even with less taxing RT in some cases), the Series X gpu is more powerful than the PS5 gpu. Both offer better performance than a laptop 3060 🤷‍♂️

Something is wrong with the Series X version if it performs worse than a laptop 3060 🤷‍♂️

Well it is targeting a resolution in both modes that is popularly labelled as a "waste of resources", so 🤷‍♂️

Wouldn't you call a 1440p60 (or 40fps if you fancy that lol) with better than "Performance" mode graphics settings a better experience? Not sure why anyone would want to lock it to 30fps in the first place unless you are playing on very old hardware that doesn't meet the recommended specs 🤷‍♂️

That's just one of the benefits of playing on PC. You tweak the graphics/performance to your liking rather than using whatever the dev sees fit 🤷‍♂️

But where there are benefits, there are also drawbacks* 🤷‍♂️

*see the Call of Duty thread for more info 🤣

PC gaming is only feasible on gaming laptops these days considering the prices of GPUs where 700$ card is selling for 2000$+ it will be a year or two before things get back at MSRP or not so use whatever you have a 3060 laptop or 3090 desktop enjoy the game unlock the cars share the performance tunes.

What I found to be missing was the dual sense like features while driving for instance drive on sand isn't different than driving on road in terms of haptics etcetera. I have turned off the adaptive triggers in both RE Village and Ghost of Tsushima as it would slow down the rate of aim and shooting in a tense combat situation but overall haptics are top notch. Now imagine feeling the tiny rocks, sand, water and a smooth road under your wheels in FH5 that would've been a bliss...we need better haptics in the pro version Phill

BTW, i started Ghost of Tsushima, and it got me hooked within the first couple of minutes. I already know It's gonna be a memorable experience. This is how you make a proper Samurai game. Not that SJW game Ubisoft is making.

That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

Welp, done with Hellblade 2. Thoroughly disappointed. Such a nothing burger after the unique experience of the first game.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

  • L LegacyGamerGuy:
As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
