Asalam-u-Aliqum every1 im new at this site and 1st time poster

So im deciding to get a new system cause my old system is way too old. My cousin said that paki gamers can help me out like they helped him

So I'm thinking of getting

Case: Coolermaster HAF 932
Mobo: Asus® M4N82 Deluxe
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 940
RAM: OCZ Fatal1ty 4GB Dual Channel PC8500
Heat Sink: CoolerMaster V8
GPU: (2) GTX 280
PSU: 750 Watt+550 Watt

and everythin else is gonna be from old rig

So i need advice on which MOBO is better. The one im planning on getting, or
Asus® M3N72-D Socket AM2+, NVIDIA nForce 750a,
or if you think there are better mobo plz tell me (except for the n790 its kinda pricey)

And which Heat Sink is the most appropriate for OCin

^ All you specs are top notch..
But i would suggest you to go with INTEL CPU and ASUS mobo as they are good on ocing..

For CPU i would recommend you to go with CORE i7 (looking the way you want to spent at your system, this CPU can bring alot of performance under you HAF).
As for MOBO go with ASUS P6T,Good for OC and packed with great features (A bit on future proof)
PSU: 750 Watt+550 Watt
May i know what you mean by this?,are you trying to use the other PSU with of you old system with this one?If yes then thats NOT what you need to do coz it can create alot of trouble..
A 750W from coolermaster or 850W from corsair is more than enough to run the system you stated above..

And which Heat Sink is the most appropriate for OCin
You already decided to go with V8,what else you need :)

I would say buy
M4A79 Deluxe (790FX) instead of that M4N82 Deluxe and HD4890 instead of GTX280. If you prefer nVIDIA then you can stick to your choice. instead of Phenom II 940 buy the 955 BE (AM3 with good OC head room and DDR3 support). Rest are fine.

Next time use PC Helpdesk for these type of queries.

GTX 285 would be better than the GTX 280. It will overclock better and is much more efficient in its power consumption.

the problem with the Asus® M4A79-Deluxe is that it doesnt support, SLI
is there any other reason that you would reccomend the M4A79?

and tell me another thing i was thinking of using the 750 for just GPU and the 550 for the cpu and others...or should it be the other way around.

Btw i am from Pakistan :)

boss i will not recommend AMD , it might be budget minded but it will not give u that performance that INTEL will ,

Intel corei7 with an asus mobo , is a good deal no doubt about it , 3gigs of ram , a single 4890 or 4870 , 750watt psu should be good enough for now , later u can just add another gpu and u are good to go .

one other thing , at some point in time u may want to sell ur amd rig , and then there will be a huge loss to you , coz u dont have many AMD fans here , the last person i knew had it sold it out ASAP .

he is now i guess going for an Intel i7 , if ur budget is less then a simple q8200 with a decent asus mobo and gpu should be enough .

k most people are tellin me to go to intel i7 920
i can if i go intel i wont be able to get another gtx 280 within my budget which is $1400 CND
that would include
Asus® P6T SE, Socket 1366
Intel® Core i7 920 Quad Core 2.67-GHz
CoolerMaster® HAF 932
CoolerMaster® V8 Heat Sink
OCZ 6Gb PC3-12800 DDR3 Triple Channel
and the 1 GTX 280 which i already have

so which would be better the amd set with 2 gtx 280s or the intel i7 with one gtx 280
somethin that would get me around 60FPs for crysis in very high XD (i know its kiddish but its what i want)

---------- Post added at 04:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:08 PM ----------

oh another thing if i get the i7 setup, the total will be 1120, i can buy a liquid cooling system for around 280 but the 2nd gtx 280 will be completly out of the question

---------- Post added at 05:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:22 PM ----------

oh another thing i wont be using the V8 ill be using the Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Cooler

With that budget Id definitely go with Core i7. Are you gonna do some serious overclocking on this? ocz you could save the money from the liquid cooling and get another GTX 280 if you want.

But I would advise you to get the Core i7 and stick to the GTX 280...and wait for the GT300 cards.

i really wanted to go to liquid cooling but where i wanna buy from they really dun have alot of option especially for the 1366 socket.
and thx for all you help i feel like goin towards the i7 and hell ill pull of a extra 100 for another gtx 280
and 1 last question im still uncertain about Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Cooler is this a better choice than V8 or True black? i wanna go with the Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Cooler what do u guys think?

---------- Post added at 01:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:28 PM ----------

and i jus wanna overclock to 3.6+ghz so will the Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Cooler be enough?
