Okay so i called FL today and the lady on the phone said i need pay up first. Then their team would install my connection within a month. Went to the PTCL exchange after the phone call to inquire about fiber availability in my area, to which they said i should forget about it for at least the next 6-8 months. Currently the maximum speed the copper cables in my area supports is 2Mb (would get upgraded to 4mb in a weeks time as they're fixing the cable as of yesterday).

So i really got no choice other than to make the switch to FL.

What browsing issue are you facing with FL?

Issues like sometime pages will time out for more than one time or they will not load properly and origin pc or steam will be stuck at loading. It is not dns related issue. But this issue can be minimized by using good vpn such as cyberghost premium or creating your own vpn through vps for free from aws.

How is it for gaming? I'd be using a PS4, and I'm opting for the 15mb package.

And does this browsing issue effect browsing on phones and tabs too?

Tbh, I'm concerned about the downtime. If FL remains down most of the time, I'd be kicked out of the house since nobody wants a new connection but me (they're all satisfied with the 2mb PTCL).

I got connection on 3rd oct, this no noticeable dc till now. DC's are subjected to broken optical fiber cable due to storm or accident other than this their system is working flawlessly. Few unnoticeable DC's for 2 to 3 hrs of total in a week.
Latency is way better than ptcl, hikes in latency for 1 to 2 hours at peak load time unlike ptcl which ends for days or maybe weeks probably.

It is recommended to have a secondary connection such as zong 4g or anyther. In case of broken cable. Cuz there deployment team is too busy these day and they will not respond in a time

Keep the ptcl running & get fiberlink try it for one month for yourself. If it suits you. This is the best case scenario for you (as far as I can think). Yeah Browsing is terrible. It doesn't feel like a fiber connection while browsing specially at peak times. I am from Faisal Town & I do have more disconnections as compare to the others. I get daily multiple disconnections for 1 to 5 mins. Sometimes even more but it is much better than what PTCL was for me. If I compare fiberlink with my last worldcall connection then worldcall was way much better. Getting the same experience as worldcall on fiberlink but worldcall didn't had disconnection issues & browsing was way much better than this on 2mb connection. Had similar pings within Pakistan & Dubai.

P.S. My connection was down while I was typing this :p

This is definitely an issue at your end. I'm not facing this issue on any of my devices. Try changing DNS?

Try a different laptop? Different router? I am using Google DNS. Try pinging your router constantly (ping 192.168.0.1 -t) and check if there is any packet loss occurring when you face browsing problems.

I tried it on my desktop pc and my laptop . The desktop is wired. It still got a issue. Pinging to the router or the site which i am trying to open works without any timeouts or a sudden hike.

Try a different router just to eliminate the possibility of a bad router.

Pinging to the router is fine with out time outs and time stays for 1ms. Is there any other fault which maybe causing the problem. Although, by using vpn it solves the problem.

My N56U router gave kinda the same problem and I could never figure out the problem. In the end, I flashed a custom firmware and the problem went away.

try replacing the ethernet cable and connecting your desktop directly to the media converter.

Make sure you spoof the MAC address of the router on your desktop

I literally have the same issue as him, Probably something wrong with the johar town area, This affects all devices even tabs and phones. Tried every possible thing anyone can think of, from changing dns, router, cables, and mtu size. Pretty much did everything i can on my end. The only thing left is from someone from their side visit and check if something is wrong with the Onu device they gave me. They don't register my complain as i am having no speed or latency issues...

Is there any way to directly connect to the media converter and still be able to connect to the internet? I can't open the network interface and without that i can't really set up. The only routers i got are 2 tp link routers and browsing is shit on both.

what do you mean you can't open the network interface?

The way I do it is to copy the MAC Address of the WAN interface of the router connected to the media converter and then use a MAC spoofing app on the desktop and the set the MAC. The next step is to step up a PPPOE connection and use the User/pass in your router to connect directly.

Well, i can access the network utility on the router but i can't really open the utility when i directly connect to the media converter.

did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!
