I unfortunately started with Dragon Age 2... never touched the series again. I think Dragon Age: Origins is better suited on PC so i will try it once i do an upgrade. I don't really care about stats carrying over to the other game.

The controls schemes in the PC and console version are very different from one another. The console version play more like third person games and the PC version plays more like a top down RTS or strategy RPG like Baldur's gate.

The console control schemes work really well for controllers.

Karachi.
I heard that reviewers preferred the PC version's controller scheme to the console version's. And DA2 was SHIT compared to DAO. Don't even bring DA2 into the conversation. DAO is IMO my absolute most favorite RPG ever. It easily beats games like Xenoblade, Mass Effect series, Skyrim series, Dark Souls and Witcher series IMO, despite not being open world (which is the first thing that I usually look for in a grand RPG game). That is my opinion.

If you can play it, give it a try. The origins story of some of your characters would be somewhat boring. But once the game catches pace, it won't stop. The story is just the best in this game. Another thing I loved about this game is replayablity value. Its story is EXTREMELY consistent with each origin character.

[h=1]Don't Expect To Party with Morrigan in Dragon Age: Inquisition[/h]

Dragon Age fans have no doubt grown fond of Morrigan, the Witch of the Wilds who made a lasting impression in Dragon Age: Origins, but despite her presence in media surrounding the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition, BioWare has confirmed that the fan favorite won't be reprising her role as a party member in the upcoming game

This according to an interview the game's creative director, Mike Laidlaw, over at Game Informer where it was explained that while Morrigan will have a robust role in the title, she won't be an actual party member for players.

“I think it is fair for people to understand that [Morrigan] will not be a party member,” said Laidlaw. “That’s going to disappoint some people, but I think it’s important for us to be upfront about that.”

Despite that fact, writer David Gaider teased the significance of the character's role in Inquisition. "It’s not a cameo. She plays a significant role,” he said.

The interview goes on to clarify that past decisions in Dragon Age will impact interactions with Morrigan in Inquisition and that her role will be anything but ordinary.

"[Morrigan] has a human role in this plot, which I think may surprise some people because they might only think of her as a plot device,” Gaider told Game Informer. “She has this big plot she’s involved in, and while that’s true to an extent, I’m taking her to a human place. That will make sense after the fact.”

You can check out the full interview here or hit up the Dragon Age: Inquisition page on GT for the latest media surrounding the game.

Are the Dragon Age fans amongst you disappointed to not have Morrigan as a party member or are you hopefully that BioWare's creative decision will work out for the best in the long run?

[h=1]Selectable Races Return in Dragon Age: Inquisition[/h]

RPG fans can be a vocal bunch and as more and more tidbits of info surrounding BioWare's latest project in the Dragon Age franchise emerge, it appears that said fans are having their voices heard as today the developer confirmed the return of selectable races in the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition.

As outlined in a post over on Game Informer's website, Elves, Dwarfs, and other selectable races will return from Dragon Age: Origins after being absent in Dragon Age 2. Why? Well, the decisions was "100% based on fan feedback" according to creative director Mike Laidlaw, who is featured in a video on GI's website that discusses the creative impact of the move as well as some of the challenges associated with it.

[h=1]BioWare Announces The Dragon Age Keep for Importing Previous Dragon Age Choices Into Inquisition[/h]

While fans of BioWare's Dragon Age series have known that they'll be able to import their decisions from both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II into the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition, exactly HOW they would accomplish that task has remained a mystery. Until today that is, as BioWare has revealed the details of how a cloud-based system called The Keep will be utilized to import (and create) previous Dragon Age decisions into Inquisition.

This according to a post on BioWare's Blog where Executive Producer Mark Darrah outlined the features and functionality of The Dragon Age Keep by stating that players will be able to customize as much or as little about the world of Thedas in Dragon Age: Inquisition as they want before importing your saved world state into the game at the start.

An explanation of this approach from both technical and creative perspectives was given on the blog:

I’d like to give some history on how the Keep came into existence. Very early in the planning of DAI, we began to think about how we were going to address the issue of importing save game files. We were dealing with a brand new game engine, plus the next generation of consoles. It was a priority that our fans be able to have their decisions carry forward, regardless of their past or future platform.
We realized that in order to make this work, we’d have to look into a cloud-based solution. Moving to the cloud allows players to take their unique world state into any platform (present or future) and even other media. For existing fans, an advantage of being in the cloud is that (if you are ok with spoilers) you can fully explore what-if scenarios, and become aware of events and consequences in our past games that you may not have known were possible. You can then fire up the previous games and go exploring for those moments.
Even if you don’t go back and re-play the previous games, you can still establish that scenario as part of your world state, and import it at the start of a new DAI game to see the consequences of your actions.

The post goes on to further outline some of the technical reasoning behind the game while making it known that the team is still exploring traditional data import solutions. If you're a fan of the series, I highly suggest you give it a read.

For now, those interested in utilizing The Keep can sign up to be a part of the beta when it goes live early next year. The full version of The Keep is expected to be online and ready for your interaction "a few months" before Dragon Age Inquisition ships.

that is a very ingenious solution, would help with Xbone and PS4 versions.

I just have the DA1 and 2 saves already, so hopefully the game will allow me to retain my original saves, instead of forcing me to use this thing.
