Documents attestation (PLZ check the last post)

While applying for student visa (USA) is it necessary to get certificate/marksheet attested from the respective board offices and foreign office?
The embassy website asks to bring all academic documents, but it does not say that they should be attested whereas most people say that the documents should be attested..
I passed SSC from KARACHI and HSSC from FAISALABAD and currently in LAHORE

Any idea how long the board takes for attestation?
Recently a friend of mine got admitted to Oklahoma State University, he only got his degree attested from HEC and foreign office then went for the interview and got the visa. I really would like not to go back to Karachi

attestation from hec takes 2-4 months now....and yes you have to get them attested from every board that took the exam and ibcc aswell......you should have done that before cause sometimes gre nts tests etc or any job applications inside pakistan also requires the same

If done by post, it takes that long probably. Have it done in person and you'll get the attested documents the same day.
But that would require a trip to Islamabad.

But what about the regional office in Lahore? I would be visiting that tomorrow
The website does state that the documents are returned on the same day at Lahore office

Ah yes, there's one in Lahore. It would take 2-3 days to get the attested documents back if you get it done from there.

nah man hec sucks now...recently raheelc got his documents attested from hec a few months for harvard uni back he knew quite a few pl in lower staff n the upper brass aswell took him more then a month cause they said they were backlogged...he still active on the forum u might wanna pm him and get details he will e able to guide u better

nah man hec sucks now...recently raheelc got his documents attested from hec a few months for harvard uni back he knew quite a few pl in lower staff n the upper brass aswell took him more then a month cause they said they were backlogged...he still active on the forum u might wanna pm him and get details he will e able to guide u better

Submitted the documents today @Lahore office, got delivery date of day after tomorrow [MENTION=6068]Ottoman[/MENTION] was right, attestation through courier takes much longer

Well got the degree attested in 2 days from HEC, now on to SSC, and HSSC..I will be sending SSC to my relatives in Karachi, will BSEK attest/verify it or do I have to go personally?

They will verify , however an affidavit will be required that they are submitting on your behalf.
and degree attestation fron hec takes 3 days in lahore and 1 day in islamabad.
remember when you go to pick up documents go after 2 PM , thats when they start handing over documents.

Thanx..a bit more info plz, Karachi Board has issued seperate mark sheet and certificate will just getting the certificate verfied/attested do the job, the problem is the mark sheets are laminated and i will have to get duplicates

you just need the certificate attested . however they might need to see marksheets but ultimately your certificate will be attested.

Guys need some ideas here, IBCC LAHORE refuses to attest my matric certificate from BSE KARACHI and i really would like not to travel to Karachi..i have got the certificate attested from the board office in karachi through my relatives only IBCC remains..I am thinking to screw IBCC and proceed without it..all other documents have been attested...any ideas

IBCC ISLAMABAD also refuses to attest SSC certificate from BSE KARACHI, claims many fakes were being brought for attestation so they have stopped doing it, and is asking to go to Karachi..The certificate in question has been verified by the Board, and i wonder how IBCC folks in KHI will attest it, if the head office refuses to. :banghead::banghead:

HEC has regional office in karachi as well

last i heard they were useless as shit but you should still check with them.
