Oh well, this brings back long forgotten memories. I have made quite some games. The last good game that I made was actually kind of a test program for a Game Engine that I was working on (way back in 2003). Since someone might ask, here is a link to that demo game
http://cid-eb91e3d0a1021e78.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Public/squazzle.exe
(Requirements: DirectX 7.0 or above, use Full screen mode if Windowed mode doesn't work)
My objectives then were to
- Do a clone of Double Dragon II (The Revenge) with new levels
- Do a KOF with Pakistani touch (you know you and me as fighters
)
But then again, as umar said earlier, "lack of motivation" made those ideas passively fade into non-existence.
As for the game engine, an "endless stream of ideas and features" made me experiment with it over and over again, and I still do sometimes. As of right now its pretty unstable, not even sure whether its compilable or not. I was supposed to release the code to engine2D.sourceforge.net but even after 8 years or so the project is still waiting for a 'GOOD' version 1.0.
I can only wish, in my times there we had places like these to get some collaboration.
