Since most of us are so heavily invested in the game, I only think it's logical that we help ourselves with learning the fiction. Since the game itself doesn't do a decent job (putting it lightly), the grimoire cards provide more than enough content to sink your eyes in.

And my God is it amazing. I STRONGLY urge everyone to read the following posts and learn about the history, the great battles, the creation of the city, the factions and The Vault of Glass (This one is particularly mind blowing).

I want them to release a book on its lore.

If Bungie can't mix good storytelling with good game then just give the story in a book or a mini series or something.

Also, Destiny surpassed my personal "hours spent in a game" record. Went past all the FFs, MGSs, COD, TF2 and KZ.
And also in the shortest amount of time since launch. And also in a time of my life where I've got least time for games :|

@USUF the lore has some strong foundations, take for example the Gorgons (I was reading the card which I unlocked after killing one) it aligns with the greek mythology almost perfectly. Like how it has those scales which make indestructible and if you manage to kill one the others get stronger (sisters in greek mythology). All of the things are very deep and thoroughly researched but the same couldn't be said about the implementation.

Thing is that the only game we have been playing for the past 2 months, each day we log in ... do some stuff for an hour or maybe two but we log in daily! That is what racking up the hour count. This will be significantly reduced as the big guns roll out unless destiny is able to bring out something exceptional which I don't see happening any time soon. Destiny is going to be a grind forever.

^ In that regard, I think Bungie's doing an excellent job of not putting down all their cards. For now, the game's got hooks into so many people that they only need to impress with the upcoming DLC to keep everyone happy. The real test will be when other heavy hitters release next year and how Destiny will provide content during those times to keep afloat.

The foundations are so strong that building cool things on top of them shouldn't be very hard. Can't wait to see what the 2nd DLC will bring as it's based on the reef.

What the hell really? How can you fall short of coins? I have 73 coins ... can't seem to put them to use.

Most weeks I have coins just enough to buy 1 item or a weapon. Heck, some weeks I've had the exact amount needed to buy a weapon or armor piece. I've missed a couple of weekly strikes in the past. Some weeks have been busier than others. And I mostly hang on Crucible which might be the reason I don't get many coin drops.

I couldn't believe the posts on neogaf until I searched on twitter myself.

Yes that is WWE's Big Show expressing his love/hate relationship with Destiny :p

[h=2]Destiny's latest update completely changes how exotic weapons and armor work[/h]

Destiny developer Bungie released a patch that tweaks numerous exotic weapons and gives players an alternative to farming materials, the studio announced today.

The version 1.1 update, which is available now, introduces a major change to the upgrade path for exotic weapons and armor — namely, that they no longer require Ascendant Energy and Shards, respectively, to upgrade. Instead, the final upgrade step for all exotic items will now require a new material type, the Exotic Shard. That material can be obtained by dismantling an existing exotic weapon, or by purchasing one from Xur for seven Strange Coins. The patch also raises the base attack level for all exotic weapons; it used to be 260.

In addition, Bungie finally buffed numerous exotic weapons, since many players felt that certain ones did not live up to the billing. That includes notable improvements to the hand cannon Thorn, the fusion rifle Vex Mythoclast and the PlayStation-exclusive auto rifle Monte Carlo.

"Exotics will be a constant work-in-progress," said Bungie. You can check out the full list of tweaks in Bungie's blog post.

Also included in the 1.1 patch are some fixes for an issue with the Atheon boss battle at the end of the Vault of Glass, problems that Bungie inadvertently introduced with a previous patch. The studio also removed an exploit by which the Templar in the Vault of Glass could be forced off its platform.

But perhaps the most welcome change for Destiny players looking to upgrade items is that they'll now be able to purchase natural materials — Spinmetal from Earth, Helium Filaments from the Moon, Spirit Blooms from Venus and Relic Iron from Mars — with Vanguard and Crucible marks, rather than having to spend boring hours farming them.

Destiny's version 1.1 patch follows closely on the heels of the 1.0.3 update, which arrived the week before Thanksgiving. The game's first expansion, The Dark Below, hits Dec. 9.

Update: The version 1.1 patch is now available, Bungie announced on Twitter. Players will have to exit the game and restart in order to download the 75.09 MB update. We've edited the story to reflect this.

The update is pretty awesome! Bad Juju is now my new fav Daily Missions toy. It finally got the much needed buff, 24 mag clip from 13 mag clip, 8 burst fire shots from 3 shots, reduced green flames, the stability feels awesome I have yet to try it in PvP. The String of Curses now replenishes your super on each kill and the instant reload or rather I'd say mag refill on the last bullet kill is nice.

Btw guys anyone here can guide me about the region shit, I have a region 2 disc and using it on my region 1 psn account, so If I go and buy the region 2 dlc will it also work on my region 1 psn account?

I've never dreaded being stuck at work this much. Today's weekly reset has brought more than a new Weekly strike and Nightfall.

Shit's going crazy on the Moon!

- The area around the Hellmouth has new geometry.
- There's a new even which lets you wield the Sword of Crota while patrolling. "The Blades of Crota have invaded this world" pops up on the bottom left and an Ultra knight attacks you with a sword. Kill him and you can wield the sword for a minute or so and cause havoc.
- The Hellmouth is making weird sounds.
- Something something Eris morn is in the tower and you can view the DLC cinematic.

I NEED TO GET HOME!

This weeks nightfall has solar burn! Hell effing yes! Finally I can put VoC to wreck and burn shit!

The strike if you are wondering is The Nexus.

Its an easy one, since the burn modifier is solar this week.. VoC+Ice Breaker+Hezen Vengeance/Gjallarhorn its gonna be a breeze!
