Desktop or laptop? What is better for a student who would be traveling?

Context
Hello, I am a student, currently doing an online semester, but I would be going to uni next next sem, which would be in the summers if uni opens then. My uni is in turkey and i am from pakistan, what i am currently confused about is what would be a "better" option for me, as i would be coming back to Pakistan every now and then and ive been thinking of either making my current system and upgrading it a bit into some kind of portable desktop or to buy a gaming laptop. The prices of laptops here are high and generally getting any of the next gen stuff is hard, i think across the world, and i have a limited budget which is around 1.5 lakh at max if i get lucky. Also I would be traveling in turkish airlines, i think that info might be useful.

My current system
CPU: AMD ryzen 7 2700
Motherboard: ASUS Prime a320m-e
RAM: 16gm ram corsair lpx
PSU: Corsair vs550GPU: 1050ti
SSD: some random hp 128 sata ssd
HDD: one 4TB hdd, one 1TB hdd, one 500GB hdd
Case: Corsair carbine spec 0-4

Use case
My use case is digital art, 3rd art, game development and just playing games for 1440p res.
The pros and cons as i see it

Cons with laptops

- the main issues i see is the price point, getting anything that can game at 1440p seems like it would be way out of my budget

- upgradability is pretty limited with laptops, sure XMG and others provide a lot more of it but they are also high in cost and very difficult to get in Pakistan as per my knowledge

- Also I have heard after a certain cost of your luggage airlines/airports might ask you to pay like up to 16% in the worth of the product as tax;which as someone that isnt very rich sounds pretty scary and painful if i would have to pay it in Pakistan and in turkey every time i move around? Ofc this is a problem with desktops aswell, but laptops tend to quite a bit more expensive so this is just scary, anyways If anyone has any knowledge on this matter, any help would be greatly appreciated.

- generally from what ive seen next gen laptops dont look that impressive in terms of price to performance so that does make it a turn off

- Laptops are priced extremely high over here for laptops due to taxes and import fees

Pros with laptops

- portability, its smaller and takes up less space so i can carry more stuff with me and generally makes the whole process alot more easier which is a big pro

- easy of use, i generally find using a laptop more comfortable and easy to deal with when lets say id be in a dorm, i can just move it around or go out of my dorm and use it if my roommates might want some alone time in the room and i gotta get work done.

Cons with desktop

- The cost of moving it through countries, cuz of how heavy a desktop is compared to a laptop it can be costly and not to mention the space it takes, i could put something else in there

- having it move it if i have to work but cant be in my dorm might be problematic

- lacks the easy of use of a laptop, i wouldn't be able to just lay down in my bed and just use it, which i would like to do that.

-my dorms are not that big so the space a desktop might take could be a problem

- mini ITX cases and low profile fans, are costly and extremely hard to find in Pakistan as per my knowledge

Pros with desktop
- upgradability

- lower costs

- better price to performance

- actually fits into my budget with the type of requirements i have for it

Some of the solutions I have come up with if i go the desktop route:
-Build my own mini itx case

- Build my PC in a suit case

- Have a desktop that has wires coming out of linked to a laptop type case with a display and keyboard and a usb hub attached to it
So what is that is confusing me?

Well if all the work i put in for the desktop solutions really worth it? should i just pay extra and get a laptop anyways? and how realistic my solutions are?
These are mainly the questions that are bothering me rn, I still have time, since I either go in the summer semester for the one after it, hence i decided to post on here and see if i can get any feedback on this matter.

Thank you all for reading and like helping me out, it means a lot <3

Additon
I have heard that maybe using a shipping service would be a good option? so if anyone has any info about a shipping service that would do a good job in my particle use case how would that be? also ya i know this one has alot of problems with it aswell

In my opinion, go for a laptop as it will be way more convenient and easy to carry around. You can also buy an external GPU dock such as this one: https://www.daraz.pk/products/v80-e...-video-card-dock-for-notebook-i100782829.html and connect an external desktop GPU with your laptop for a pretty good performance boost. I know that this will be costly but you can sell your desktop if its possible for you and go for a laptop with good specs so that it can handle the external GPU. This will be the best option imo if you manage to get an external gpu dock here in Pakistan at a fair price.

the with e gpus is,from my knowladge, its most of the time just better to get a laptop with the laptop ur connecting externally, sure tis a performance boost, but the cost for it is the gpu and the dock, which can be pretty costly also with the one you have given, I would also require an external psu as well. I was interested in ASUS's new laptop which has arguable the best egpu set up but that is pretty costly as well from what ive heard.
Ya i can sell my pc, but at the end of the day the goal is to keep the cost low since i dont earn money on my own, so I dont mind having to deal with the carrying it around and what not but what matters me is the whole process of taking it with me and building/buying a case to suit that kinda design you know?

And like ya laptops do have an appeal thats why i am still considering it but the price they have and what i want in terms of performance just really doesnt match at all.

another problem is idk how that egpu set up you have sent a link to,would work? like would i have to open up my laptop? if so i think i would need tocheck which laptops would support this type of solution aswell

In my opinion, the laptop will be the best solution for you. I understand that this is not included in your budget; however, there are various discounts on such products, and in the future, a powerful laptop will be more beneficial for you for study. When I was getting ready for college, I had the same problem. In addition to my studies, I play many games, and I needed a good gaming laptop with enough power to play anytime. It was then that I bought myself a new account at https://www.lolfinity.com/ and could not refuse games. My parents took out a loan to buy me a gaming laptop, which I still use today.

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.
